They’re taking 2 off Terminal 1 pier C. It’ll still have 10.T2s alright! All going to be decommissioned on T3 and on decline on T1! Not enough stands available on T2, even after Pier 2 completed!
Are all T3 ones remaining? Doubtful will be needed once BA moves!? Will Easyjet use old Pier B, A380 stand as 2 separate airbridges? They’re taking 2 off Terminal 1 pier C. It’ll still have 10.
Read the last few pages; there’s some useful information. Are all T3 ones remaining? Doubtful will be needed once BA moves!? Will Easyjet use old Pier B, A380 stand as 2 separate airbridges?

My unashamedly armchair geek idea; assuming the planned route from the bus is via the red and green arrows. Use 208 for domestics and add a small bridge from the pepper pot at arrivals level (blue square) along the blue arrow into the vertical circulation thing. Domestics can use this route, and simply closing a door on the new bridge will allow 208 to also be used for international as well as it does now.
Simple!
Imagine BA shuttle passengers traipsing to buses in snow and ice, after years of airbridges, just ain't going to happen!! LolAs someone who flown BA to LHR the current set up is quite efficient at both ends. I would have thought MAG would have had a minimum requirement for at least 3 domestic gates as Aer Lingus and Loganair will also require them. As stated the circulation core is where pier 3 should go so that might have been the original plan. To have the C gates at the domestic arrivals gates. What might be a good idea is reconfigure one of the legacy T2 stands like 209 as 202, 204 and 206 are typically used by wide bodies.
At LHR T5 they have 2 domestic baggage carousels and you exit arrivals from the right and side of terminal. So hopefully MAN can be something similar. Bus gates may be ok for props but when you have an A320/A321 full of passengers on a wet and windy day in MAN doesn't scream premium. I'm also waiting to see if BA or OneWorld take up the lounge space left vacant by Virgin as Emirates didn't take up the option.
easyJet move to T1 Lower Level check in on 15th Jan.
This will allow Ryanair to move to T1 Zone A.
On the subject of domestics.
Anyone scared that BA will lose airbridge access; don’t be worried. They will actually gain more stands for bridges. Aer Lingus DUB will also gain the use of airbridges. The next set of airlines to T2 will be announced shortly.

On the subject of remotes.
West Gate security point is to be re-located further back into the fuel farm. This will create room for 3 new code C aircraft stands.
Swissport Cargo are the occupants of the new Cargo Shed being constructed next to Dnata and will move in during the summer from Building 300. FedEx also planning to leave building 300 in the spring and will relocate to a site off Sunbank Lane.
MAG Maintenance, PetsOnJets & WFS Cargo are the other occupants of Building 300. Once Building 300 has been vacated the plan is for demolition and extension of the airfield to that extent.
Airfield Ops vacated that about a year ago to move into the IDLEX tower. Currently the portacabins are empty. Are they also finally relocating the ground ops team out of that portakabin and getting rid of it?!
Good news about remotes. They really need extra space. Airport running out of apron. Ryan and Easyjet will consume T1 and T3! T2 will have to expand further if they want more heavies. Wide bodystands will be at a premium soon!!On the subject of remotes.

Totally agree! Why not consolidate Ryanair and EasyJet in check-in A / security A? Smoother, single level experience and a more open / lighter environment. Makes no sense. Thanks for the info.
Therefore I am not looking forward to my future easyJet flights having to use that claustrophobic security area in the dungeon of T1!
I assume the new scanners will also be installed here before the June deadline?
There is plenty of room in the current check in hall for both airlines, I’m quite baffled by this decision!
The more I think about this, the more logical it becomes to be honest.Totally agree! Why not consolidate Ryanair and EasyJet in check-in A / security A? Smoother, single level experience and a more open / lighter environment. Makes no sense.
