I believe that the CAA counts passenger figures as where they were booked to/from, so diverted passengers will still be included in the original airports numbers. It may however, affect the aircraft movements for both the originals and diversion airports statistics.
Thanks. What happens to the figures if the flight is cancelled at short notice (on the day essentially)?As Kevin has said, although I can not find the relevant paragraph, the CAA allocate diverted passengers to the original planned airport.
