Site News Farewell to "The Local Yokel"

It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that forum Co-Administrator - TheLocalYokel is leaving Forums4airports.

Unfortunately TheLocalYokel, (Jim) is sadly retiring from the forum due to Ill health. I'm actually unsure if Jim is able to view the forum but I would like to send him our best wishes and kindest regards from everyone on Forums4airports. You have been a true comrade, friend and supporter of the forum for many years and your unfaltering support has been most appreciated by everyone.

Reading this forum will not be the same without looking forward to TLY's contribution. I can say that he is a true gent, always polite, friendly and a wry sense of humour. I will say a prayer for him and his family.

 

Best wishes to TLY. I have always enjoyed reading his posts, well written and knowledgable. He will be sorely missed.

I’ve only just seen this. Very best wishes to TLY, your contributions will be very sadly missed. I hope you will still be able to find means to follow your passions.

I returned to this Forum after a long absence and saw this. TLY is well loved on this forum. Any updates on how Jim is doing. Thanks

 

Sadly Jim had an aggressive untreatable brain tumour. He said he wished to stay on the forum for as long as he was able to, but in reality it wasn't very long after finding out about his condition. He was told that if he was very lucky he would live six months, but, "the likelihood was that it would be much sooner." were his words.

RIP Jim.
