OAN 131/2018 – PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION ON STANDS 2, 4, 6 & 8.

1.0 SUMMARY
A programme of up to four months work to reconstruct areas of pavement on Stands 2, 4, 6 and 8. All existing asphalt surfaces will be reconstructed using pavement quality concrete. Work will take place on one stand at a time, requiring a rolling sequence of single stand closures moving progressively from Stand 8 to Stand 2.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The overall programme of work will commence on Monday 14th January 2019.
2.2 The scheduled works completion date is Friday 17th May 2019.
2.3 The work will take place Monday to Friday each week, with daily working times of 08:00 ‐ 18:00L.
2.4 During the working programme on each stand, there will be a period of circa ten days when no works activity will take place. This is to allow the newly laid concrete to cure and gain weight bearing strength.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 All work will be located with the footprint of Stands 2, 4, 6 and 8.
3.2 Demarked work areas will be erected on one stand at a time, starting on Stand 8, moving progressively to Stand 2.
3.3 The overall scope of work incorporates the removal of the existing asphalt surfaces and replacement with pavement quality concrete.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATION
4.1 Stand Closures
4.1.1 Stands 2 – 8 will be closed as shown on the below schedule;
 Stand 8 – Monday 14th January until Friday 22nd February.
 Stand 6 – Monday 25th February until Friday 22nd March.
 Stand 4 – Monday 25th March until Friday 19th April.
 Stand 2 – Monday 22nd April until Friday 17th May.
4.2 Parking of Ground Service Equipment
4.2.1 As work progresses from Stand 8 to Stand 2, it will be necessary to temporarily displace some parked vehicles/ equipment from Bays 10, 8A, 8, 6, 2 and 2A.
4.2.2 Any displaced vehicles/ equipment may be parked on the closed stands. Available parking areas for displaced vehicles/ equipment are shown on the attached drawings (depicted by magenta hatching).
4.3 Apron Road System
4.3.1 The individual fenced work areas will each protrude into apron road at the rear of Stands 2‐8, therefore, a small portion of the road abeam the area of work in progress will be reduced to a single operational lane.
4.3.2 Temporary traffic lights will be in place to control vehicular movement

OAN 132-2018 – INSPECTION OF SERVICE PIT AND SURROUNDING STRUCTURE LOCATED ON APRON ROAD NEXT TO STD 100

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 A programme of one-night shift and one-day shift to inspect and clear the service pit and its surrounding structure located on the apron road system next to Stand 100. The location of the pit, within Taxiway Delta strip, will require a one-night closure and a two-hour day closure of Taxiway Delta. Night-time closure of Stand 100 will also be required.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The overall programme of work will commence on Thursday 10th January and be completed by the afternoon of Friday 11th January 2019.
2.2 Thursday 10th January nights nominal working hours will be 22:00-05:30hrs local.
2.3 Friday 11th January days nominal working hours will be 12:00-14:30hrs local.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 All work will be located on the apron road system next to Stand 100.
3.2 The overall scope of work comprises;
• Removal of pit lids.
• Drain water from pit.
• Remove wood and scaffold poles from pit.
• Inspection of pit and surround.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Taxiway Closures
4.1.1 Taxiway Delta will be closed between A5, D4 and the junction of Taxiway Delta and Lima during the times listed at paragraphs 2.2 and 2.3.
4.2 Stand Restrictions
4.2.1 During the times listed at paragraph 2.2 Stand 100 will be occupied by a night stopping aircraft.
4.3 Apron Road System
4.3.1 The apron road system running between Stands 6 and 61 is closed and will remain so until the inspection has been completed and the integrity of the pit has been confirmed by the Project Manager.
4.4 Western Maintenance Area
4.4.1 Access to the Western Maintenance Area will be available throughout the closure.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 Overall, the work has no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.
5.2 In the event of forecast low visibility, the planned night works will be cancelled.
6.0 FURTHER INFORMATION
6.1 A NOTAM promulgating the closures of Taxiway Delta will be issued prior to the start of works.

OAN 133 / 2018 – PP03 - RECONFIGURATION OF TAXIWAY NOVEMBER CUL-DE-SAC TO CODE C ASTL

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 As part of the MAN-Transformation Project, from Sunday 13th January 2019 at 20:00hrs local the Taxiway November (TWY N) cul-de-sac, abeam Stand 73, is to be downgraded to a Code C Aircraft Stand Taxi Lane (ASTL). Furthermore, on Tuesday 22nd January 2019 the new Pier 1 becomes an airside construction site.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Overall, Sunday 13th January until Friday 1st March 2019.
2.2 The reconfiguration of Taxiway November will take place between 13th and 16th January 2019 with nominal working hours of 20:00-06:00hrs local. (The works is expected to take no longer than 4 shifts to complete however it is highly weather dependent, and the stated programme may be subject to extension).
2.3 The daily working hours for Pier 1 will be 06:00 – 17:00hrs local, however there may be a need for night works; nominally the nightly working hours will be 20:00-06:00hrs.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 All works are located on TWY N, Stands 73, 74, 901, 903 & within the compound around Pier 1.
3.2 The scope of works is as follows:
• Core out and install AGLs on TWY N and Stands 901 & 903.
• Paint in the relocated road across TWY N from Stand 74 to the new Pier 1.
• Remove existing road across TWY N, in-between Stands 73 and 74.
• Reinstate Stand 74L centreline, aircraft and stand designators.
• Paint in new GSE area next to Stand 74L.
• Remove Stand 74C & 74R designators and centre lines.
• Remove B744, B748, A346 and B773 aircraft designators from 73C.
• Paint in new double white taxiway edge markings behind Stands 73 & 74.
• Remove old double white taxiway edge markings behind Stands 73 & 74.
• Paint in new style stand designators on TWY N.
• Paint in TWY N centreline in its new location.
• Remove existing TWY N centreline from Stand 901 to Stand 72.
• Paint in new double white taxiway edge markings for Pier 1.
• Install full height lit Heras fencing with red/white base boards around Pier 1 airside construction site. See attached drawing.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Stand closures
4.1.1 Stands 74C, 74R, 901 & 903 closed and permanently removed from service.
4.1.2 Stand 74L reinstated following the removal of the road system between Stands 73 and 74.
4.2 Stand Restrictions
4.2.1 Stand 73C restricted to maximum A333/B789/B772. (60m span limit)
4.2.2 From 13th until 16th January 2019, Code C night stopping aircraft to be parked on Stands 73L, 73R and 74L to allow painting to take place.
4.3 Taxiway Closures
4.3.1 TWY N closed from 22:00hrs to 06:00hrs local each night from abeam Stand 72 from 13th – 16th January.
4.3.2 Taxiway November-Alpha (TWY NA) closed from 22:00hrs to 06:00hrs each night from 13th - 16th January.
4.4 Aircraft Pushback Procedures
4.4.1 Pushback from Stands 72C and 73C on to ASTL NA or on to TWY N aircraft nose wheel abeam Stand 71 centreline facing north. Changes to Aircraft Pushback Procedures will be included in the next publication, Yankee.
4.4.2 Pushbacks from Stands 72L, 72R, 73L, 73R and 74L remain the same i.e. aircraft nose wheel abeam Stand 73R facing runways.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 The work will have no effect on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.
5.2 In the event of forecast low visibility, the planned night works will be cancelled.
6.0 FURTHER INFORMATION
6.1 Changes to the airfield layout will be published via Supplement 02/2019 to the UK Aeronautical Information Package (AIP).

OAN 01/2019 – SCHEDULED RUNWAY 05L-23R NIGHT-TIME MAINTENANCE.

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 Runway 05L‐23R will be closed for three consecutive nights in early January to allow for essential maintenance works on the runway and within its associated strip. All flight operations will take place on Runway 05R‐23L whilst work is in progress.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Work will take place on the nights of Tuesday 15th to Thursday 17th January 2019, inclusive.
2.2 The nightly working hours will be 22:30 – 06:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1  Drainage manhole GPS surveys.
 Routine maintenance tasks including maintenance of painted runway markings, runway surface friction assessments and aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) repairs/ replacements and bolt inspections.
 Asphalt pavement repairs on Taxiway Alpha between Intermediate Holding Points (IHP) A2 and A3.
 Operation of a lit crane within the MAN‐TP Taxiway Echo construction site, located on Taxiways Bravo and Kilo (Tall Equipment Permit TE‐00254 refers).
 Borehole survey work, south of Runway 05L‐23R within the Runway 23R ILS Glideslope Critical Area and within the grass area abeam Runway Holding Point (RHP) A1 (MWB 33/2018 refers).
 PQX pavement bay replacements at RHP A1 and several maxicrete and asphalt pavement repairs on Taxiway Juliet between IHPs J3 and J4 (OAN 129/2018 refers).
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Runway Operations
4.1.1 During the Runway 05L‐23R closure periods (22:30‐06:00L) all flight operations will take place on Runway 05R‐23L.
4.2 Taxiway Restrictions
4.2.1 Taxiway Alpha, between IHPs A2 and A3 will be closed each night that work takes place.
4.2.2 Additionally, there will be night‐time closures of Taxiways Alpha (at RHP A1) and Juliet (between IHPs J3 and J4) during the overall night works programme.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 In the event of forecast low visibility, the night works will be cancelled and Runway 05L‐23R will remain open.
5.2 In the event of un‐forecast reduced visibility conditions (minima of IRVR 800m or Cloud Ceiling 300ft) during the Runway 05L‐23R closure period when work has begun, the aerodrome will close to flight operations whilst the runway is recovered. An ‘AD Closed’ NOTAM will be issued in such circumstances.
