OAN 046/2021 – NIGHT-TIME PAVEMENT REPAIRS AT RUNWAY
HOLDING POINTS A1 and J1.

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 A programme of up to five night‐time shifts to carry out essential pavement repairs in the vicinity of
Runway Holding Points (RHP) A1 and J1. The repairs will take place in one location at a time. During the
nightly working hours Links Alpha or Juliet will be closed, as applicable.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Work will take place on the nights of Monday 22nd to Friday 26th November 2021, inclusive.
2.2 The planned nightly working hours will be 22:30 – 06:00L.
2.3 Subject to prevailing weather conditions, it is planned to carry out the work as follows:

 Link Juliet – 22/11/21 – 23/11/21.
 Link Alpha – 24/11/21 – 25/11/21.
N.B: Within the overall programme of work, there is provision for a single contingency shift in the event
of poor weather hampering works progress.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 Overall, the scope of work will involve the following tasks:

 Two PQX concrete pavement repairs in the immediate vicinity of RHP J1.
 A single PQX concrete pavement repair circa 15m south of RHP A1.
 
OAN 049/2021 – TAXIWAY ALPHA NIGHT-TIME PAVEMENT REPAIRS.

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 A programme of up to four night‐time shifts to carry out essential pavement repairs on Taxiway Alpha. During the nightly working times, Taxiway Alpha will be closed from its junction with Taxiway Bravo to east of Link Alpha‐Golf. Link Alpha‐Foxtrot and Rapid Exit Taxiways(RET) Alpha‐Echo and Bravo‐Delta will also be closed. Link Bravo will be restricted to maximum aircraft size ICAO Code C (B737/A321).

2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Work will take place on the nights of Monday 13th to Thursday 16th December 2021, inclusive.
2.2 The planned nightly working hours will be 23:00 – 05:30L.

3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 Overall, the scope of work will involve the following tasks:
 Multiple asphalt pavement repairs.
 Re‐seating of 4 x taxiway centreline AGL fittings.
 Pavement over‐banding.

4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Runway Operations
4.1.1 Runway 05L‐23R will remain operational for the duration of the night works.

Runway 23R Operations.

4.1.2 Whilst the nightly work is in progress, the following operational considerations will apply:
 Arriving aircraft of size ICAO Code D (B767) and larger will be required to backtrack Runway 23R as directed by ATC.
 Arriving aircraft of size ICAO Code C (B737/A321) and smaller will be able to vacate Runway 23R via Link Bravo, else backtrack Runway 23R as directed by ATC.

N.B: Although Link Bravo will remain available for aircraft up to and including ICAO Code C, the adjacent RET BRAVO‐DELTA WILL BE CLOSED.

Runway 05L Operations.

4.1.3 Whilst the nightly work is in progress, the following operational considerations will apply:
 Departing aircraft of size ICAO Code D (B767) and larger will be required to backtrack Runway 05L as directed by ATC.
 Departing aircraft of Size ICAO Code C (B737/A321) and smaller may depart Runway 05L from Link Bravo (TORA 2036m), else backtrack Runway 05L as directed by ATC.

All Runway Operations

4.1.4 Flight crews of arriving or departing aircraft prohibited from using or unable to use Link Bravo should be aware that the required runway backtracking route will be between Links Alpha‐Golf and Hotel (circa 2020m).
4.2 Taxiway Restrictions
4.2.1 During the nightly working times, Taxiway Alpha will be closed from its junction with Taxiway Bravo to east of Link Alpha‐Golf. See attached drawing.
4.2.2 Outside of the nightly working times, Taxiway Alpha will be available for use.

5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 In the event of forecast low visibility, the planned night‐time work will be cancelled. Taxiway Alpha and associated runway links and exits will remain open.
5.2 In the event of un‐forecast reduced visibility conditions (meeting the criteria for LVP Alert) prevailing when work has begun, the work will be curtailed at the earliest opportunity

1.1 To upgrade existing and install new virtual Critical Part (CP) monitoring equipment for the Signature Aviation Apron.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Works are to be ongoing between 2nd December 2021 and 23rd February 2022.
2.2 Daily working hours shall be 0800-1700L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 Works are to install various pieces of infrastructure for the creation of a virtual CP boundary.
The following items are to be installed:
• 3 LIDAR units
• 2 wide angle thermal cameras
• 4 wide angle optical cameras
• 2 PTZ Cameras
• 1 Multisensor camera
• A mounting post for LIDAR Unit 1 Existing cameras are also to be re-aligned.
3.2 The majority of works are to take place within the vicinity of the Signature Aviation apron; within the confines of the controlled landside environment.
3.3 Some aspects of work will be located airside and will require access to the Engine Test Bay.
3.4 For a visual representation of the works, please refer to Fig.1 below.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 The Engine Test Bay shall be closed at the following dates and times: 07/12/2021 – 10/12/2021, 1000- 1500L.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 Overall, the work has no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during low visibility operations.

1.1 Runway 05L‐23R will be closed for three consecutive nights in early January to facilitate essential runway maintenance works within its strip. All flight operations will take place on Runway 05R‐23L whilst work is in progress.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Work will take place on the nights of Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th January 2022, inclusive.
2.2 The planned nightly working hours will be 22:30 – 06:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 Overall, the scope of work will involve the following tasks:
 Multiple rhinophalt and over‐banding repairs along the full length of Runway 05L‐23R.
 Pavement bay joint sealing at areas of recent repairs in vicinity of Runway Holding Points (RHP) A1 and J1.
 Routine runway maintenance tasks including rubber removal, AGL repairs and refreshment of painted ground markings.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Runway Operations
4.1.1 During the Runway 05L‐23R closure period (22:30‐06:00L) all flight operations will take place on Runway 05R‐23L.
4.2 Taxiway Restrictions
4.2.1 In the event of poor weather hampering the progress of Taxiway Alpha repair works as described within OAN 049/2021, those works will be rolled‐over into January, and it may be necessary to close Taxiway Alpha from east of Link Alpha‐Golf to the junction with Taxiway Bravo on the nights of Tuesday 11th – Thursday 13th January, inclusive.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 In the event of forecast low visibility, the planned work will be cancelled and Runway 05L‐23R will remain open.
5.2 In the event of un‐forecast reduced visibility conditions (meeting the criteria for LVP Alert) during the Runway 05L‐23R closure period when work has begun, the aerodrome will close to flight operations whilst the runway is recovered. An ‘AD Closed’ NOTAM will be issued in such circumstances.
 
OAN 052/2021 NORTH ROAD RESURFACING
OAN REF:- 052/2021 DATE OF ISSUE:- 16/12/2021 EFFECTIVE DATE:- 06/01/2022 EXPIRY DATE:- 21/01/2022
PLEASE ENSURE THIS INFORMATION IS PROMULGATED TO ALL STAFF
1.0 SUMMARY A programme of up to two weeks to carry out repairs and resurfacing to parts of North Road. At times the road will be reduced to a single lane with traffic management in place.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The overall programme of work runs from Monday 10th to Friday 21st January 2022.
2.1.1 On Thursday 6th January 2022, prior to the resurfacing works commencing, an inspection involving lifting of a road plate at the T junction on North Road leading on to the airfield will be carried out.
2.2 Nominal working hours will be 07:30-18:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS 3.1 All work will be located on North Road between North Gate Security and the old Operations Tower.
3.2 The overall scope of works will involve the following tasks:
• Plate removal and inspection.
• Various patches of 40mm planing and asphalt resurfacing.
• Various pit lids reseating.
• Pit realigning.
• Paint marking reinstatement.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Access along/through North Road will be maintained and will be controlled by a traffic light system.
4.2 Access and egress for the baggage halls will be available throughout the programme. Access/egress may change each day depending on the area being resurfaced. It will be clearly signed and agreed with the baggage management team.
4.3 Resurfacing in front of the World Duty Free (WDF) delivery bay will take place after 11:00L. The Site Supervisor for the contractor carrying out the resurfacing will telephone the delivery manager for WDF prior to any works taking place to verify that all deliveries for the day are completed.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO) 5.1 Overall, the work has no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility
 
Current NOTAMs as at 14th January

The only item of great importance is the use of single runway operations until 1st February at 2230 and non-acceptance of diversions until 10th February at 2359. These restrictions are likely to be extended beyond those dates.

• Airbridge tunnel roller replacements.
• Tunnel structural repairs.

1.1 A single night‐time shutdown of the portion of aircraft fuel hydrant system serving Terminals 1 and 3 is required to facilitate essential maintenance work at the MASHCo fuel farm. The timing of the shutdown will be coordinated to avoid any operational disruption.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The work will be carried out between 01:00 and 04:00L on the morning of Friday 11th February 2022.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The scope of work will be essential electrical maintenance within the fuel farm switch rooms.
3.2 All work will take place within the MASHCo Fuel Farm.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 The portion of the aircraft fuel hydrant system serving Terminals 1 and 3 will be shut down between the hours of 01:00L and 04:00L on the morning of Friday 11th February.
4.2 The work has been coordinated to avoid operational disruption, and therefore, will not commence until the final aircraft departure (prior to first wave) requiring hydrant fuelling from the nightly affected portion of the aircraft fuel hydrant system has been served. In the event of the final aircraft departure being delayed, the start of work will also be delayed, as required.
4.3 Outside of the aforementioned times, the aircraft fuel hydrant system will be operating as normal.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 Overall, the work will have no effect on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.
