Wow what a year it should be, incredible amount of flights with plenty of interesting movements for an airport thats apparently on top of a hill, fog bound and has a short runway! Haha
Well yes it is on top of a hill, does get fog bound and affected by crosswinds and does have a short runway but doing amazingly well after covid and is the jewel in the crown for growth in the UK. Lets hope we can surpass the 4.5m passenger numbers this year, easily achievable with the confidence the airlines have shown and who know we may hit the magical 5m number. Just need to get on the terminal extension now this autumn, we must be close to getting the interior plans being finalised and out to tender. Just a pity we don't realistically have either the money or the room to extend the runway just a little, 300m would be good or move the threshold, but never mind lets turn this into an airport Yorkshire can be proud of and stop all the leakage over the hill.

Stage 3 RIBA plans are completed, and they have been out to tender with the final contractors now interviewed - the airport are now awaiting the tenders back before finalising the contract and securing the necessary funding.

Moving the runway32 threshold/touchdown point back 300m to the flat section of runway would be the key to solving many issues. It was in this position before 1984 so can be done (at a cost though and no doubt the moaners will once again open their gobs)
