Does anyone think the outcome of this will set a precedent for other UK airports night-time flying policy? Aircraft are getting quieter year by year but the environmental lobby are becoming louder at the same time, taking any opportunity to hinder airport activity.

This is an interesting one. I for one would welcome 24 hr flying and I agree a disproportionately small group of people stop this from happening to the detriment of everyone else.

BHX becomes overcrowded a lot during the summer months to the point where it is unmanagemable. Last week they were queuing out of the terminal and many passengers were saying I would never fly from this airport again.

There is aobviously demand for this and it would certainly create more jobs in the local area. I know not everyone wants to work these antisocial hours but for those who do they can earn more money which is very useful right now.
