Trawling through the comments on the article I see the main person on the article - our friend Mr Tate, the group that shall not be mentioned committee member and flight stat compiler extraordinaire (facts he choses not to reference in his interview) tries to further justify his position ie
“I bought my house in 1999, AMP bought Leeds Bradford Airport in 2017, so I have been here 18 years longer them. They bought an airport near my house, not the other way round. And my house was built in 1930, when the airport was still a field, so wrong on all counts.

And they knew what they were buying: an airport with night time restrictions, so they need to honour those restrictions”.

Is this guy for real?? What has AMP got to do with anything?? Night flights were permitted way before he even bought his house near LBA! He moves there and now complains his sleep is disturbed - which of course even if LBA remained within the restrictions he refers to would still be the case!
That Andrew Tate is always in the news, one minute he's pimping in Romania or moaning about the noise at LBA…what a Pratt 😂😂😂😂

Complaining about LBA is his hobby. An obsessive one. What a life! Totally wasted complaining about something he will never defeat. The problem is that these idiots start to believe their own nonsense. I wonder if other airports have similar pains in the backside who waste their lives counting aircraft movements ?
Manchester has Knutsford....

I'm disappointed with that DM article though. Whilst they have a couple of them looking glumly at the camera, there's no-one looking glum and pointing at an incoming flight, which is a must when reporting on people complaining about things surely?

I think that the airport is of the opinion that their interpretation of the rules is correct, so they are carrying on as before.
Might as well anyway given the Council have said they're not intending to take court action to enforce it, and I suspect if the airport are successful with the outstanding CLEUDs then the Council will lose the right to enforce anyway under the 10 year rule.

The others were kicked down the road but that didn't help us.
They were rejected, not kicked down the road. But no, it was no help to LBA, although LBA continues to operate according to their interpretations, not the Councils, and the Council have so far declined to enforce their interpretation through the Courts.

I wonder why? 🤔

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.

Well over 4 million steps taken this year already. And about 12,500 photos.
The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
