Indeed and if 230 seats can be added, for every stand a new pier reaches then it reduces the strain on the main terminal providing a more relaxed customer experience.

I don't think so because the smoking area is on the other side of the development.

Thanks for the responses all. Only reason i ask is that these drawings show the pier extending to the centre of stand 11, not 12. But nothing seems out-of-scale.

You might be right. I know the images show two aircraft on stand in front of the new terminal building with the peir extending slightly further to reach another stand which is why I thought the extension started at stand 10.

Yes, you're correct. To stand 11.

Yeah, they haven't done the last corner last I saw, so that may be the start of a small pier, but theoretically it's full length already.

The plans within the airports publicity release shows the building extending to midway stand 10 with the pier extending to roughly the centre of stand 11.

So im guessing the pier will be the width of the first 3 vertical steels on the left and the same height as the extention, a good size building, it actually looks like a whole new terminal in itself!

Seems to be the case!

The previous plans for a new terminal was around 100m width then a full length pier. Without going back through the details of the plans this is roughly 65m including the pier.

It can't be far off 65m deep as it appears almost square.
