I did mean if slots came up it would be an extra 321 to cover the flights. I know it wouldn't make sense to base a -800.Basing a B737-800 into LTN when the base is A321 defies logic. They would keep the B737-800 in LBA or move it around the network to replace the extra A321.
It really doesn't matter anyway as I believe the A321 delivery schedule speeds up - So S26 could be very different for LTN and the rest of the bases.
My thoughts exactly. It's a strange move especially given the distance between Leeds and Luton should crew need changing or things go wrong. You'd have thought any W legs would be from a nearby base, the obvious candidate being Stansted.I'm intrigued by this initiative by Jet2 as it uses valuable morning and evening/night slots while not utilising the daytime period effectively when there are no restrictions. Surely offering W rotations from an unrestricted base would offer both Jet2 and LBA more flexibility.

That might be the case but some more so than others. LBA must be one of the most restrictive in the UK.The trouble is … there is no airport in the U.K. that is now unrestricted. The U.K. is anti aviation.

I thought EMA was unrestricted. The trouble is … there is no airport in the U.K. that is now unrestricted. The U.K. is anti aviation.
Don't think NCL has any night movement restrictions either.I thought EMA was unrestricted.
Probably their Cessna 421, G-BRIT.Brittania flew aircrews into Leeds on a light aircraft. I saw it many times whilst I was up 'on the hill' during my lunch break in the 70s
The other negative is that a based aircraft requires a stand, but in return provides the airport with only half the pax of an aircraft not operating W legs.My thoughts exactly. Suggest you look back at post #533 by pilot 737. I'm hoping the rumours he's heard at work are incorrect .Sorry, have I missed something here. Where has it been announced it will be an LBA based aircraft and crew operating the LTN W patterns?
Or is it just an assumption based on the announcement that there will be 15 based aircraft (2+2=5?)

Yeh im hoping it’s incorrect too! Hate the M1!!Suggest you look back at post #533 by pilot 737. I'm hoping the rumours he's heard at work are incorrect .
If it's true, and LBA are lending LTN some of our mid afternoon rotations, it's likely as not our 737 300s that will do it, given they are deployed on the shorter Spanish routes, which LTN also gets. It would seem likely their A321NEOs will do their Canary Islands, Turkey and Greece routes leaving the Balearics and Spanish mainland, and possibly Faro , to the 'borrowed' W leg aircraft.Yeh im hoping it’s incorrect too! Hate the M1!!
I’m sure if someone did some digging on the bookings website it would become obvious where the aircraft were based from!
