I think that in any case, the flight returned to LBA after picking up fuel? It was certainly showing on the FR24 arrivals with the normal flight number and inbound from NCL.Although every other aircraft got in presumably the crew did not want to risk a missed approach at LBA which would have made the fuel situation more serious.
Sounds familiar! A bit like LBA then. That's the problem with ACE - it's so performance limited with the short(ish) runway and more importantly relatively high terrain on departure. Even if you want to take extra fuel because the weather in Leeds is marginal, you aren't able to as you wouldn't be able to depart if you did!
I wonder how they manage when flying to Scottish airports.Sounds familiar! A bit like LBA then.
It seems that flight was never going to land at Leeds yesterday irrespective of weather if a single go around left it so short of fuel it couldn't take that chance, because as we all know, a go around can happen even in good conditions for various reasons .
Don't LBA flight almost route via there (cough cough)I wonder how they manage when flying to Scottish airports.
I was watching for a while and there were some short delays after landing, before moving on to stand . The remote stands that would require a bus weren't being used and aircraft were waiting 5-10 minutes for a stand in front of the terminal /extension . Nothing major though and I only saw 2 arrivals having to wait .Maybe a few delays getting passengers off the planes this afternoon. Mrs just back from Belfast and bus crashed smashing a side window! So no doubt that will be taken out of action
Those white buses are to big for the apron in my view.Maybe a few delays getting passengers off the planes this afternoon. Mrs just back from Belfast and bus crashed smashing a side window! So no doubt that will be taken out of action
Yet at the time the weather shown on FR24 was just rain with adequate visibility and a 6 knot tailwind . Obviously it hadn't updated but suggests it may have been a rogue low cloud, as this divert was the only one.G-GDTF 737-300 inbound from Naples diverted to EMA last night. Appears to have made 2 attempts on 32 before diverting.
Or a rogue pilot hahaYet at the time the weather shown on FR24 was just rain with adequate visibility and a 6 knot tailwind . Obviously it hadn't updated but suggests it may have been a rogue low cloud, as this divert was the only one.
Probably a recently recruited one from TUI. Oh no wait, it didn't go to MAN (or DSA)!!!!Or a rogue pilot haha
It landed at LBA from MAN at 7.10pm still as LS240.LS240 inbound from Malta diverted to MAN. Jet2 stating the issue was weather related at LBA.
