What baffles me is that anyone is so desperate for a fag fix that they will smoke in an area everyone knows is a no smoking area, hope to ' get away with it', but instead set off the fire alarms leading to a terminal and tower evacuation, effectively shutting the airport down for a period of time, preventing aircraft from departing or landing, potentially resulting in flight diversions and certainly causing mass disruption and delays.

Was it just a stupid passenger or deliberate action by one of LBAs haters? A bitter, irate DSA supporter perhaps, wreaking havoc so they can make yet more sad comments in their Save DSA/ Hate LBA group? I can't help wondering.

Try £18 at the Co Op for 20 Silk Cut Silver for the dragon. Love buying them in Portugal for €5.50, even though I no longer smoke.

Can anyone shed light on the delay to LS461 to Verona? The aircraft landed at 2.30pm so plenty of time, I would have thought, for an on time departure at 3.40pm. I have been watching the performance of this flight recently as I have a vested interest - I am booked on it next week.

Most of the time it’s because it has a slot.

Not 100% sure, but Ravenair were doing surveys at 4,450ft, so maybe waiting for them to pass, it entered the hold at 8,000ft, the left straight away and Ravenair held north east of Garforth

Half a tale? Was there as FR24 shows a light aircraft land on 14 at the time jet2 was overhead

My understanding is the an aircraft made an emergency landing having declared a Mayday. Around 1422 I think.

Out of interest what happens to the pilots that are flying these diverts?
Do they stay overnight and fly them back first thing? Both aircraft now back in Leeds. I ask as once landed in Leeds they may have been off duty for a few days

Presumably low cloud combined with runway 14 in use and very wet runway preventing a 32 Cat 3 landing with tail wind?

Have a friend travelling back on LS416 from Arrecife this evening. The outbound had a medical divert to Shannon and now won’t be returning til tomorrow. Jet2 offered a hotel or a rebook onto MAN.

There was low cloud outside the pub in Bramhope ( but none at Cookridge or LBA on the way) when I was there yesterday lunchtime, so quite possibly.

The crew decided not to make an approach and requested NCL due to being at minimum fuel.

The weather was poor but every other aircraft that made an approach got in.
