With Jet2 opening Luton with a five aircraft base from the get go, hopefully this will put a rocket up EasyJet's backside at BHX. Very happy they're at BHX, but it's very piecemeal and a bit slapdash i.e. this winter has no Lanzarote or Gran Canaria which are winter staples for any UK airline. BHX does not need any more leakage and/or a reason for passengers to go from another UK gateway There's gonna be a bloodbath somewhere....and I hope it's not at BHX 🙏

Seems its been downgraded to a 2x aircraft base from the start... not quite a big as initially thought.

Jet2 seem to be expanding fast.
A great deal of advertising their East Midlands routes on local radio in Birmingham!. Let's hope the BHX routes don't get diluted eventually.

So where do we think jet2 will enter or go to next from Birmingham in 2026 ?
I personally think
🇨🇻 Cape Verde :Espargos
🇬🇷Greece:Sitia
🇹🇳 Tunisia Djerba
🇪🇸Spain:Murcia

If they can secure enough hotel beds in the area I wouldn't be surprised to see Kavala at some point.

Egypt has been/is being looked at so Sharm and/or Hurghada are possible.

Cape Verde comes down to securing the hotel rooms where TUi have a very strong presence.

Plenty more city break options if that's the direction they choose.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

If you’re tired of takeoffs, you’re tired of life.
49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
