It's always EDI to Philadelphia
The daily seasonal route between Edinburgh and Philadelphia will be reinstated next year as American Airlines returns to Scotland.
The airline will be back in Scotland’s capital for the first time since 2019, with its first flight from Edinburgh departing on 24 May 2025. The service will end on 5 October and will be served by a Boeing 787-800 aircraft.

The Philadelphia flight sees Edinburgh Airport – now part of the VINCI Airports network - reconnect to all of its pre-Covid transatlantic routes, and with a host of new additions also being added to the schedule since then there's now more choice than ever before.

This sees us reconnecting - and significantly surpassing - all of our pre-Covid transatlantic routes, demonstrating the significant demand North American demand for Edinburgh and Scotland
“Seeing that American Airlines tailfin back in the Scottish capital is something we are all looking forward to, and we know that reconnecting our two historic cities will generate excitement on both sides of the Atlantic.”
