Ryanair will launch a new direct route to Malta from Glasgow Airport next summer.

Launching on April 1, the twice-weekly service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, offering passengers increased flexibility and convenience for travel to one of the Mediterranean’s most popular destinations.

This eagerly anticipated addition marks Ryanair’s seventh route from Glasgow, complementing the airline’s current destinations of Alicante, Brussels, Dublin, Krakow, Malaga, and Wroclaw.

With Ryanair’s expansion, Glasgow Airport is excited to offer our passengers from Scotland’s largest city a convenient and direct option for experiencing Malta’s rich history, stunning coastline, and vibrant culture.

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director for AGS Airports, said: “We’re delighted that Ryanair has chosen to expand its operations here by introducing a new direct route to Malta.
“This addition underscores the airline’s confidence in Glasgow as a gateway for Scottish travellers. It also means more choice for those looking for a sunny escape, whether for a long weekend, a full week’s holiday, or an extended stay.”

This new service is anticipated to carry an additional 20,000 passengers between Glasgow and Malta next summer, providing more options for passengers seeking both flexibility and comfort. The Tuesday and Saturday flight schedules are designed with holidaymakers in mind, offering ideal timings for weekend breaks, week-long stays, or longer getaways.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
