I'm blowing the Leeds trumpet but arguably Leeds is too big to ignore now. Folk can argue all they like about this hilltop airport with a runway not pointing into the prevailing wind, but one thing is certain which is it pulls in the punters. It's Leeds' catchment area and bums on seats that make money, not long runways facing a particular direction. Sooner or later Tui will have to follow the market forces if it is to regain its Yorkshire market share.

@ChrisBBB please review the posting links section in the help pages. It's located in the dark section at the bottom of the page.
Assuming that DSA doesn't reopen and subsequently become the UKs No 1 base (I think not) then I feel sure you're right and once the terminal is finished and there's room to breathe inside on a busy day, TUi will base here again. How many aircraft is another matter but even one is progress. The relationship between LBA and TUi seemed broken after their defection to DSA and in later years, their axing of the Sunwing base mid contract , but since DSA closed there's been a steady increase in presence here which hopefully continues

It was a post on one of TUI groups on Facebook from someone who has it on "good Authority" that TUI will be flying 2 new routes from LBA next year.

It was posted anonymously possibly because they work for TUI so have heard something. A base was ruled out though. For now it seems to be a rumour but we shall see if anything comes of it..

Coincidence or not? TUI are to put there Winter 2025/2026 programme on sale next Thursday, July 18th

Could we see Tenerife & Malaga re-added as both routes could easily be operated year round and are current pick up points for TUI Marella Cruises

Just a quick update on G-TAWG. The process is now at the below stage, the next and final stage is publication.

Consultation stage - when an investigation is largely complete and a confidential draft report has been sent out for formal consultation in accordance with the regulations. The consultation process includes the time taken to consider representations and amend the draft report prior to publication.

It was G- TAWD wasn't it, if you're talking about our runway excursion.

I'd seen that on AAIB earlier in the week. Didn't think to post details on here

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
