Cardiff's passenger numbers for 2023 was 837,252 down 2.3% on 2022 and down 49.4% on 2019 which was 1,656,085.

I’m genuinely puzzled by the drop in Edinburgh pax numbers. Has there been a change in times making the route less attractive?

Idk i wonder if there were some cancellations that could've effect it.

Previously I have posted airport statistics as a screenshot from my spreadsheet, however I have now over exceeded my quota of attachments and so hopefully the 'cut & paste' will be sufficiently easy to read.

Regrettably I've reached my limit for attachments - in fact I'm well over the top - and so I will have to delete, over time, the historical monthly statistics that I have been posting as attachments.

In future the data will be posted in 'spreadsheet style'.

Due to my having reached my attachment limit I have had to delete all statistical data previously posted.

If anybody would like me to repost the monthly data for 2023 then please just ask.

Scottie Dog

I am posting the February statistics in both a screenshot format and also the spreadsheet style. Can I please ask you to let me know which you prefers?

The screenshot is easier to view on mobile. I’d prefer that format if it’s feasible long term.

The Edinburgh route still struggling I see and will probably have a decline in numbers throughout this year due to the schedule reduction. I just think the price is a bit high to entice more bookings.

I understand the overall number of passengers is important and revenue of course, but are there stats for % of available seats taken available?

For example, on Facey one of the Cardiff Airport pages is reporting good loads - most TUI flights are in the high 90s to full. Vueling, KLM and Ryanair look good too. I would be interested to see what % of the max Cardiff is pulling.

Whilst I spend considerable time checking available seats on over 700 routes out of Manchester I must admit that I don't have the time to check the data for Cardiff.
As far as I'm concerned it's a case of checking daily fights on FR24, and this can vary by day, if there is a variety of aircraft types being used, and also verifying if the flight has actually operated.
All in all a very time consuming exercise, but one the I do in order to try to calculate the load factors.

Thanks Scottie, it's good to see international passenger numbers increasing slightly in May, but disappointing on the domestic front and Amsterdam.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
