Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) is unlikely to ever reactivate its fourteen mothballed A380-800s and will instead boost its medium-size widebody fleet with at least some of its twenty ordered B787-9s, Chief Executive Carsten Spohr said during a presentation of the company's annual results.

To add to the above post two of the new Munich routes are moved from Frankfurt. They are Rio and San Diego.

Just to amend my previous post, it seems like the airline will have its Head Office in Munich, but will operate from both Munich and Frankfurt.

Suggestion is that key routes from the two hubs that are currently operated by Eurowings will switch to the new subsidiary so as to retain the Lufthansa branding however operate with a lower cost base that the airline will have.
