Today was the beginning of my 41st year on this planet and also the day I moved too a different country! After living in Wales for my whole life, due to personal reasons I've now moved to Leeds. Hopefully one day I'll be able to move back home to Wales but for the immediate future my life is now in Yorkshire! Guess it also means Leeds Bradford Airport is now my local airport! Hopefully I'll fly from there soon!
After working for a couple of years in a job that gave me no pleasure, I decided to quit and change my life completely. It just dawned on me at one point because I've never flown on a plane, never been to Europe, even though I'm 23 years old, but I'm losing my youth. So my friend and I started thinking about side hustles.
Apologies for the reduced number of news stories being posted lately. I'm working from my mobile phone at the moment having broken my PC. I'm hoping Farther Christmas brings me a new one... fingers crossed anyway!
4 more daytrips done Saturday to Tuesday. Over 40 miles walked (quite why in this heat, though!) with just on 1000 more photos. More pleasing is 3 were "new" places for me. Only issue yesterday was not one but 2 trains breaking down from Windermere (and to think the train fare cost more than all the buses I used)
Just realised I didn't give an update to the "post daytrip restriction lifted" scenario. 5 or 6 places visited so far and well over 2000 photos taken with today Tatton Park saying they'd like to feature a couple of shots on their social media. The good ol' days have returned.
Big decision made today. Decided to quit my job at the end of the month and take a break from long distance driving. 15 years is a long time to work for 1 company.
Going to try and use the break to get my enthusiasm back for avgeekery in general!
Please do not withdraw from the forum. I appreciate your view's, knowledge and the photo's you provide. Your work for the support's group has been over & beyond. You are too valuable to lose. I am sure my thought's are shared by many other member's of the forum. It is easy for some people to make their comments behind a screen but coward's up front. I hope over time you will reconsider your decision. Best wishes.
