I've just been on the Iberia Web site looking at booking Alicante to Manchester in mid November. The LCC fares are way too high on the date I want to travel. It appears that Iberia will be operating Madrid to Manchester during the forthcoming winter. Came in at a decent price too.

With the current situation I think airports as a whole are in for a messy year. I am currently in Australia and the news is reporting that they keep something like 30 days worth of aviation fuel as an emergency supply. They haven't had to tap into it yet but will need to soon.

Don't be surprised if there is big increase in flights to the Carribean next autumn/ winter. Aer Lingus probably will end up kicking themselves for pulling out of tge Barbados route .

I've seen a couple of You Tube items. From turning off the runway at Manchester too getting off the bus at the domestic terminal took longer than the flight from LHR. Passengers not impressed.
Just read on Simple Flying that Air Canada will be flying the Toronto - Manchester-Toronto route during winter 2026-2027 staring on the 25th October four times a week using the 182 seater A321XLR.
If true this is good news that we will have another flight going west.
