Yup you're absolutely correct, and even had it been saved back then I'm 100% sure it wouldn't be there now. However there certainly were approaches to save it, my employer at the time tentatively enquired as did Dnata (for certain) and Swissport (strongly rumoured) who both saw enough truck...

Word on the street is that they might be looking at smaller Airbuses (used) to replace the 733's. Advantages being fleet commonality and low aquisition costs similar to the OG 733's, it worked then, it would work now.
It's pretty basis business stuff, strengthen yourself, especially when it's at the expense of your competition. They're not a charity, money talks, which is what the spotters on here often don't seem to understand.
It's a diminishing market, FR will see this as a victory over Wizz and will concentrate on running them out of MAN too. Can't see the routes being replaced from LBA or LPL.
