    Flybe

The airport marketing team have an opportunity here to persuade Flybe to move their DSA short haul operations to LBA, thereby retaining at least part of their DSA passenger base but also adding pax from our area that would use the services. As mentioned in an earlier post this could justify...

    Flybe

Could we envisage a situation in which FlyBe base a couple of Dash 8's at LBA to operate existing routes to BFS and DUS plus JER and CDG (replacement for DSA services) and perhaps a BRU?

Airport Consultative Committee [Questions & Responses]

Surprised to hear Chris Sanders is retiring. He seemed so full of enthusiasm and determination. I wonder what hope there is of securing new airlines/routes by someone less committed.

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

I went to the presentation at Yeadon Town Hall on Monday (and Im going to Otley tonight). I was disappointed that no one from Network Rail or Northern Rail was present. The parkway is being handled as a separate development which is not dependant upon the A,B,C roads. I dont think it will work...

    Fly bmi

I think there is definitely potential for business point to point, plus business and leisure connections provided through ticketing is available. LH have some good long haul destinations out of MUC. Leisure travel has got to be a winner, not only does MUC serve the whole of southern Germany, but...

    Route Development

Air Europa doesnt exactly spring out of the Ryanair website. Do they issue 'through' tickets and whats the policy if a feeder flight (eg from LBA) misses its long haul connection I wonder? I note virtually all Air Europa's flights are long haul to south america so I expect there to be relatively...

    Route Development

South America I get. Barcelona also serves several coastal resorts and the southern pyrenees. Madrids appeal is far more limited. Not saying there wont be some people who want to go there but wouldnt warrant anything more than a couple of flights a week.

    Route Development

Through ticketing would be an incentive to book but Air Europa's route network is rather small. Plus no point connecting to other spanish airports as most are served direct from LBA. I still dont see it as being viable. Madrid is way out in the west, there are many more centrally located...

    Route Development

Why is Madrid likely to succeed? I would have thought traffic would be limited on such a route, especially if its operated by a carrier that doesnt offer connections. There are other destinations that would be more lucrative. Madrid would be low on my wish list.
