Airport seeks legal clarification on night flying

Wonder if the Airlander 10 is countable as a night movement if anyone buys a few to spend a week cruising up from Majorca?? Have the NIMBYs scratching their heads!!! :ROFLMAO:

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

That's an interesting point regarding profitability. I sometimes have a quick scan of the campaign sites and noticed an interesting post the other day from the admin of the blog site (not the mechanic's or accountant's) - an ex employee at DSA. It would seem that he has had some sort of brief as...

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

Be interesting to hear the terms in due course. If they can't persuade anyone to take it on, I guess they are stuck with it???

Do you know where the movements are 'from' and 'to'??

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

I also read 'elsewhere' from a usually reliable source that any capex/improvements to fixed infrastructure would be at the expense of the operator/investor but that they would not own anything at the end of the lease. Personally cannot get my head around which 'investor/operator' would be...

Teesside International Airport - General Thread

The Government are not directly involved in regional airports and thus there is no apparent national policy. Regional authorities are able to spend Development Grants (more or less) as they please and thus some airports in Public ownership such as Teesside have enjoyed subsidy from public funds...

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

Whilst I agree that direct rail links would provide some additional traffic I'm sure you're right that it would unlikely generate large numbers especially if the model of a re-opened airport was the same as before. I doubt many additional folk will want to travel distances to catch a holiday...

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

The problem as I see it is whether the 'operator' or the Council will be allowed to invest in improved 'fixed' infrastructure even forgetting the finances? There are none sense posts already on the campaign sites advocating the construction of a second terminal - but who would 'own' it - can't...

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

Thought the Middle East consortium had been binned through failure to provide legitimate source of funds?? If the Operator/Airport can offer something that is not available at other nearby airports maybe there is some chance, but to try and replicate what's going on in nearby airports has been...

Ironically, the conditions seemed to improved to CAT1 before he landed (200 ft overcast 1400m viz with RP1500m on 32) Pity for the passengers he was unable to hang around 15 mins longer.

A new airport.... South Yorkshire Airport City?

But why would the operator (or supposedly 2 of them competing) shoulder the losses?? They will not own the site. If they did own the site then I suppose one might take a very highly speculative gamble if they were convinced of the potential. With the projected 2m pax in 10 years, logic would...

But at FL160 and FL170 which suggests they know they will not be landing No - only LBA

Teesside International Airport - General Thread

Super little airport which hopefully will survive when Mr Houchen's money runs out but doubt it will ever affect LBA. In spite of all the perceived issues, LBA is in the middle of a very large catchment area which up to now has generated success and expansion of passenger numbers. For Teesside...
