Thank f**k for that! I never said so. Stand reconfiguration was the first part of the master plan. New stands were to come later. You've been adamant that what we're now getting has been a downgrade and that parts or even the entire master plan has been dropped. The former is your opinion...

Previous plan: Current plan: Of course only indicative pictures and will have to wait and see the actual plans when they come out, but what we're now getting looks better to me than the previous terminal extension. The previous plans equated to an extra 4200sqm of terminal space...

The plan is supposedly for 5-6 new F&B outlets which will have their own seating plus a business lounge which would obviously have seating.

    Route Development & Rumours

After Heathrow, Gatwick has the second largest market to the USA of all UK airports. In fact the Gatwick to USA market is larger than the rest of the UK (minus Heathrow) to USA market combined. Whilst previously Gatwick has been the go to airport for airlines that couldn't get into Heathrow...

We've been here before Timberwolf, but again since the 2018 master plan was published we've had a global pandemic, the highest levels of inflation seen in almost 40 years and now two wars affecting the East of Europe. To plough on with a plan that was drawn up over 5 years ago whilst ignoring...

    Infrastructure, Construction & Developments

I guess some people will just never be happy. Government mandated changes to security requirements in UK airports forcing BHX's hand into developing a new security area. By the sounds of it, some forum members would rather the airport leave the existing security space empty and unused and...

Further to what @Ray Finkle posted recently: https://www.moodiedavittreport.com/birmingham-airport-terminal-transformation-to-deliver-fresh-food-beverage-partnership-opportunities/ Key projects at Birmingham Airport between now and 2033 include: *New security screening (June 2024)...

    Route Development

Only point I'd make is AJet/AnadoluJet serve the "smaller" Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul not the main one that Turkish Airlines do, so whilst onwards connections are still available from Sabiha Gokcen, they're not as numerous as from Istanbul (Main).

Even then, that's not actually correct. Comparing "City of" populations (i.e. City of Leeds, City of Birmingham, City of London, etc), Birmingham is actually the largest, Leeds is 2nd, Manchester is 8th and London is 295th. Now if you tried to tell pretty much anyone that London is only the...

    Jet2.com

    - Either new stands/infrastructure become available in which case Jet2 can grow by basing additional aircraft (whatever type that may be). - Or, if the only way for Jet2 to increase capacity is by basing larger aircraft, that would suggest there is no capacity at the airport for any other...

    Jet2.com

Maybe I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but why would Jet2 not basing A321NEOs at Leeds throw away their market share? Having the same number of A320NEOs at LBA as they do B737-300 and B737-800s, total seats would be broadly similar to where they are now, so the only way they'd lose a...

    easyjet

Veering away from easyJet @ BHX, but still linked to BHX - although easyJet have a base at Luton and their HQs there, Luton's success in recent years is largely down to Wizz Air's expanding presence at the airport. Just over 40% of LTN's passengers in September flew to Eastern Europe (mostly...

    Random Stuff!

Worth considering that a lot of people, especially families, can only really afford to go on holiday once a year. For families this has traditionally been in the summer likely due to the school summer holidays being longer than the Christmas holidays therefore offering more flexibility on when...

    Greater Birmingham - Thread

I know they're taller and therefore more people live in them, but there's not been any talk on the Sentinels being demolished, and the council blocks slightly further out in Ladywood were only relatively recently re-clad, so not sure why the 4 between City Centre Gardens and the canal would be...
