STS Aviation Hangar and Expected Movements

This was among the raft of US investment announcements today.....taken from the BBC website article. Boeing has said it will convert two 737 aircraft in Birmingham for the US Air Force, which would be the first USAF aircraft built in the UK for over 50 years, and could create 150 high-skilled jobs.

    Random Stuff!

A few people have commented on Juke's retirement not really been covered. I think the least they could have done is shown his last goal, but he might have said that he did not want any focus on him in the series. He did look a bit sheepish at times in the celebrations after the Mansfield game...

    Random Stuff!

I loved it, but i am biased. I don't think they really glossed over anything, it was warts and all. The way they covered the Exeter away game and Stanno was excellent, especially including his wider family. My one criticism if anything was that they rushed a few bits, especially the last home...

Yes, I will be there Ray. Really looking forward to it now. Last night could not have gone any better, promotion confirmed, and key players rested for Sunday. Bring it on.....

    Birmingham Airport - General Thread

It will be interesting to see what decisions are made on UK airport expansion plans, but I think the UK government deserve a bit of credit for actually taking decisions on UK Limited major infrastructure projects that have been left in limbo for a long time. I don't buy the London centric...

Flying from Brum? Tell us where you're going

We went through BHX twice in October which was our first experience of the new security set up. Both times my wife's bag was rejected. First time, the agent looked at the screen, a few touches of the screen and gave the bag back.....no questions or inspections.....second time, the scanner had...

    Birmingham Airport - General Thread

Blues have just announced Delta Airlines as its Official Airline Partner.......not really expecting anything like that, but if the Airport route development team are not using the ownership at Blues to help in getting a US service i think they are missing a trick...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

I think removing the escalators from where they were is actually a good thing as it provides more room for the check in area. They have had to extend the terminal to accommodate the new lifts and they could have extended it further to create more space for both check in and security on the 1st...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

This is taken from Birmingham Live a few days ago.........apparently escalators are really dangerous and a health and safety issue.....the guy is deluded and a distinct whiff of bs.....it also says more space will become available in 3 days which i assume is more of the security hall...

    Random Stuff!

When TW first took over and they released a couple of pre-recorded videos from his NY office, I noticed he had a number of diecast aircraft models on his desk and window ledges. It made me think he was into aviation, and maybe has some contacts within United/Jetblue/American or Delta. He has...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

I am assuming the 6 weeks Barton was referring to is to coincide with the full opening of the new security hall. Not sure what else it can be unless someone has more information..... Looking at this queue, it has gone through terminal 1, past arrivals and M&S, then outside, headed back towards...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

For high level projects like the new security hall, one of the hardest things to do is come out to the public and admit you got it wrong. But if BHX come out and admit that, I think the majority of people who have been affected, although not being happy, but would accept it and cut the airport...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

Thanks TM3, yep, that is the one..... And the thing that annoys me, is that they have had to make the change to a perfectly seamless passenger experience because in my view they have got this new security hall process totally wrong. I have not travelled through it myself yet, I will be living...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

So, today BHX have issued a directive that all passengers arriving by train are required to head to the ground floor to join the queue for security. I suspect this is in response to a recent article in the Mail. So, something that has worked perfectly well for a lot of people for a long time...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

My brother flew out to Denver this morning via Frankfurt on the 9.10 Lufthansa flight ( LH953 ). He had received an email yesterday from Lufthansa asking him to arrive at the airport early due to the potential delays with getting through security. They arrived at 7am, and from bag drop to...
