    Eastern Airways

With the above logistics mentioned, were Eastern really in a great position to start Orly at three airports? They’ve bitten off more than they can chew. Why not do East Midlands on a daily/double daily and start off well rather than stretching the crew and plane far too thinly and upping the...

    Eastern Airways

We all knew it would be absolutely dire - I really don’t understand why CWL management would allow this to take place. PR disaster that a route starts and fails so badly and will come to an end especially when Flybe made a good success of it for many years. Many questions here but why would...

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

The only way Cardiff will be a successful airport isn’t exactly in its control. Yes we talk about outbound travel and if Ryanair did launch 5-10 routes that would be fantastic, never mind a base. IMO not enough emphasis is on inbound travel to Wales. Visit Wales / WAG need to do more to enhance...

    Random Stuff!!

Absolute rubbish. The Republic of Ireland is only as strong as it is now because of EU membership. Being a member of a trading bloc is fundamental to being placed in a globalised world. Look at UK exports and growth since leaving. You can’t spin that.

    Qatar Airways

You’d think for Wales PLC purposes that the FAW / WAG would be heavily in favour of flying out of CWL. Especially when Qatar could make a return in the future.

    Wizz Air

    W patterns would’ve worked

    Wizz Air

if you think of the routes Wizz could’ve operated then Milan and Bucharest are definitely not in the top 20. Fair enough they decided to pull the base for winter but why pick two routes that simply weren’t going to work.

    Vueling

Seems to be counter intuitive to have a summer route pulled when the preceding winter schedule is operating. Would yields be that badly tarnished with Wizz to cut ALC by 50%? Hoping Malaga and Palma return but it doesn’t look good. It’s like the Barcelona route all over again…..you’d like to...

    Ryanair

My reasoning for bringing up Edinburgh and Ryanair was because before the pandemic and Flybe - Edinburgh was carrying 9K monthly. Dublin isn’t carrying that yet and loganair are never going to get decent loads because of prices and general public awareness of the airline. I think the airport...

    Ryanair

Dublin had a great August - must be a strong contender for extra capacity next year. Great success story for the airline and airport. what are peoples thoughts on Edinburgh @ 4 weekly - under Flybe there were solid pax figures month on month

    Vueling

would be interesting to see if Wizz has damaged VY yields this summer. always thought they could do exist and that there is enough market for them to enjoy. I don’t think the airport has reached critical mass on the routes served by both VY and Wizz. Hope they get them loaded soon and would be...

    Aer Lingus

Surely will ramp up quickly from the short notice start in July. Great to have Belfast back!

    CAA Provisional Statistics Update

Flight times for PMI are not great. VY gets in at midnight for one of their rotations.

    Wizz Air

As a further note, I’m a little surprised a ski route wasn’t added to the original winter schedule - even a Geneva at 1-2 weekly would’ve created some good demand.

    Wizz Air

I think a lot can be said for TUI and EasyJet this year. Lots of disappointed customers but many many more happy customers that got away fine. People will forget the problems down the line, especially if a new route or two is added between the winter and the base opening in March. Rome would be...
