There's no BRS-AGP on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday..... The CWL-AGP flights are on.... Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

    Ryanair

Very interested to read Severns post on the Ryanair Bristol thread regarding frequencies, specifically to Malaga. They appear to have gone from 8x weekly down to 4x weekly. Easyjet however have increased by 1 weekly flight to 18x weekly. Read in to that what you will but is that a case of FR are...

    Play

Nice idea, but Play fly to Liverpool, which is much better linked to North Wales and Wrexham.

    Loganair

But completely different operating models, you can't compare the two. A low cost domestic carrier operating 737's or A320's would unlikely work. A regional carrier relies on high frequency from smaller airports as well as popular trunk routes, but has higher per seat costs as a result. Had...

    Vueling

Vueling tend to be a bit more expensive but I found most of their flights are good times. Not too early departure from this end and afternoon departures from Spain. The telling sign will be if Ryanair deem their routes a success and change the timings or increase frequency. I would say Vueling...

    Potential Routes

Commenting as an "insider" in Wales, from what I can see the inbound tourism promotion of Wales across the world is abysmal. I remember seeing some campaign happening in the Middle East when QR started, but whether that has continued since they pulled the route is open for review. The issue with...

    Loganair

The demand is certainly there, but it's the times and price that's affecting it. Flybe have proven the potential is there by operating up to 3 daily flights. The issue is where CWL comes in Loganairs priorities vs other routes, which as a domestic carrier are probably all calling for double...

    TUi Airways

As nice as it would be, I can't see it benefiting CWL that much. The best I can see is maybe an extra W pattern flight or two. TUI are a holiday company that has its own airline, their primary business is providing holidays, not providing flights. They have obviously realised they can get...

    TUI Airways

BRS has seen huge growth over the years, but is this a sign that there is a limit to that growth for package holidays/sun destinations?

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

TUI have historically offered 6-7 flights a week to PMI during summer. If VY brought back PMI TUI could take a fair chunk of the seats and possibly reduce their own PMI offering to free up the aircraft for other routes.

That page also has more followers than the official CWL Facebook page! 42k and growing fast vs CWLs 35k

    Loganair

A while back the MD publicly said they were not interested in CWL-EDI as it wasn't seen as profitable, even if the passenger numbers stacked up. A year or so later they launched EDI. So it may be that CWL eventually managed to convince them to try it and it seems to be doing OK. Also note that...

    Ryanair

It's possible to view the dates available by changing the website address if you're tech savvy. TFS is shown Saturdays 0600 TFS-CWL and 1035 CWL-TFS. Other routes already announced are viewable, including NWI-MLA. Nothing there for CWL - PMI or MLA though.

I'm not one to defend walesonline, but to be fair, the routes aren't even on sale yet. Its all based on information from SeanM on Twitter, who is generally fairly reliable.

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

The key to recovery now is ultimately FR. Wizz could have filled that gap but royally messed it up, so unless CWL have some radical ideas and random Airlines in the pipeline, FR is the best bet for growth. And lets be honest, they are the best Airlines to get it. They are a financially secure...

It's not too late for PMI yet. Exeter has been announced, but none of yesterdays announcements are actually on sale yet, so still time for more.

With Easyjet opening a base at BHX, various expansion from EZY, FR and Jet2 across the UK, it really is disappointing that CWL isn't getting a look in, even if it's just a few flights from other bases that we know work (ALC, PMI, FAO, TFS etc) I am remaining optimistic that there is something in...

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

I always go back to the stats to see what has the potential to work or not. Under Flybe CWL-BHD carried the following: 2010 - 41.5k (Daily) (EZY BRS - 150k) 2015 - 41.8k (Daily - E95?) (EZY BRS - 246k) 2019 - 62.2k (Unsure of frequency and aircraft type) (EZY BRS - 279k) 2022 - 14k (EI started...

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

The focus should be on what routes they know work, which is pretty much sun routes. The routes Wizz operated seemed to be working - LCA, TFS, ACE, ALC, AGP, PMI, FAO, CFU and HER LCC routes should be: AGP and ALC should be minimum 5 weekly, or at best daily. PMI should be minimum 3-4 weekly or...

    Cardiff Airport - General Thread

The runway used to be an advantage but not so much anymore with more advanced aircraft. I do however agree that CWL needs to capitalise on BRS current misfortunes. When you look at social media, the rhetoric has changed. People at many points are actually wishing they can fly from CWL, rather...
