I was hoping to see an increase (did it used to be daily?) but very glad to see the route remain, particularly in these uncertain times.
Vueling started 6 Orly-UK routes last autumn, BHX being one.
Looking at their Winter 21/22 to Summer 22 (April onwards) schedule compared i can see:
BHX -...
Does anyone remember why it was cancelled last time? I too remember hearing flights were always full, and close F&F always said it was a great route.
Super happy, Bonne chance Vueling!
Amazing news! My partner lives in Paris and it’s widely agreed amongst Parisians that ORY is far more convenient than CDG, in terms of distance to city, complexity of airport, delays etc.
Let’s support this route and hope it stays this time!
Last time they dropped by in 2017 (to Florence, Ibiza, Malaga & Palma), we had 1x weekly flight per destination, i.e. 4x weekly BACF flights.
Now, we just have 1x new route, to Belfast-City, but with 16x weekly BACF flights in total, so four times as many seats as before (2x daily flights Mon...
They're back! :shamefullyembarrassed:
BRITISH AIRWAYS EXTENDS ITS UK DESTINATIONS THIS WINTER
Brand new Birmingham route launches
Belfast, Thursday 9 September 2021 – British Airways is extending three of its newest domestic routes – Exeter, Glasgow and Leeds from Belfast this Winter season...
Indeed Ray, I emailed Wizz a few weeks back. Their response was a little more generic, which is what I expected from BHX, but as Rob said, their transparency was great!
While I’m aware the commercial department must be in touch with a number of airlines over countless routes that never come...
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe :)
I contacted BHX route planning team suggesting Wizz start flying BHX-LCA. This is on the back of Wizz having just opened a base at LCA with 3 aircraft and 36 routes (35 of which are year-round!) and following Blue Air’s cancellation of the route...
They’ve recently expanded their strategy and started flying from Western Europe to Western Europe (instead of just eastern to eastern/ western to eastern). They fly Luton to Athens, Thessaloniki and Lisbon. All great additions to BHX.
Whilst it’s obviously more likely that they’ll grow with...
If it cheers anyone up slightly, I travelled with Olympus Airways (on behalf of TUI) from BHX-SKG today, on an ex-Monarch aircraft. It definitely made me nostalgic.
They’ve pretty much left the livery, and the interior is exactly the same...
https://www.anna.aero/2012/09/12/bye-bye-bmibaby-at-belfast-city-birmingham-and-east-midlands/
According to Anna Aero, bmibaby didn’t fly BHX-GLA on demise, but perhaps it was served in previous years (though I can’t find anything online).
I do remember flying with bmibaby on various routes...
Looks like the Blue Air are cancelling BHX-LCA after 26th October. No flights bookable past this date.
I originally thought they were perhaps suspending it for Winter, but Blue Air have all of Summer 2020 bookable except BHX and LTN to LCA. I've also got family and friends at Larnaca Airport...
I’m delighted about this announcement as I’m sure many are!
Yes it’s only one route, but 13 extra flights a week from BHX is a feat which shouldn’t be underestimated.
Most recent launches tend to be 2 or 3 flights per week, such as Jet2’s holiday destinations.
These 13 extra flights a week...
After losing major competition from Monarch (6 x weekly to LCA last summer), Blue Air’s prices have gone sky high.
My parents paid £250 in May with nothing added on, and prices for August for a week, without luggage etc, is £650 each. What?! You can fly to Asia for less than that!
I paid £115...
Does anyone actually know the difference between Iberia short haul and Iberia Express?
I've flown with IBX from BHX-MAD and Iberia Mainline from LHR-MAD, both on an A320, and the service was identical.
They both offer hand baggage only fares and no free food/drink.... The only difference I...
Larnaca now bookable for Summer 2018 until 27 October.
Tu/Th/Sa - 3 times per week as this year.
Great to see it back! Would be a real missed opportunity if they closed the route after Monarch going into administration.
Fares are higher than last year (£196 return in May 2018 - we paid £105...
Really sad news. I love Aegean and their onward connections are amazing. Flown with them from Birmingham to Athens, Santorini, Mykonos and Milos.
This could be one for Blue Air who already fly there and have a partnership with Sky Express for onward connections which would really fill the gap...
