Went with Jet2 to Verona last Wednesday, and back to LBA last night. Outward flight was full, and last night's inbound had 140 on board. We departed Gate 13 which is a fair old trek along the bus shelter to the portakabin for boarding, but otherwise the terminal experience was fine. In fact...
LS331 from LBA to FCO was almost full this morning with just maybe 2 or 3 empty seats. Arrived at LBA at 5.30am so the drive was easy. Parked in the mid-stay which was relatively cheap when pre-booked (£40 for 4 days), and it's literally two minutes into the terminal. Check-in was very quick...
Can't you arrange to stay a bit longer?! You will definitely not like the air that rushes in through that cabin door when they open it tomorrow afternoon. It's 'orrible across here. Happy landings.

Booked for early April with Jet2 Holidays to Rome. I looked at the same package booking flights separately and hotel through Expedia and the Jet2 deal was 15% cheaper. Comparable flights from MAN were more expensive with Jet2, though Ryanair was slightly cheaper. But I don't get up in the middle...
The Latvian lady who serves me my Costa every morning was complaining that the cheap flights from LBA to RIX are costing her a fortune with hoardes of her relatives jumping on flights and coming to stay with her all the time. 6 of them were going back out on FR2482 today after spending Christmas...
My aspiration would be that local politicians of all persuasions wake up, get their act together, and campaign for a modern rapid transit solution for Leeds which includes a direct link to LBA.
Extremely upbeat report in today's Yorkshire Post with the CEO of DSA talking about £150m rail link to the ECML and potential for 25m passengers annually. No doubt this will be dismissed by some as pie in the sky, but at least it demonstrates a vision sadly lacking at LBA with the plans for two...
An impressive list rmac, and well done for Scotland. If only the 5 million people in Yorkshire received the same level of public funding that the 5 million in Scotland do, then maybe the Leeds city region wouldn't compare so badly to others when it comes to infrastructure projects. I fully...
Yes of course the gradient on the surface from the Harrogate line to the airport is too steep. The Victorians invented railway tunnels to get over that. Like I said, from a railway engineering point of view, perfectly possible, but from a financial/aspirational point of view, no chance
A heavy rail link directly to the airport is perfectly possible from an engineering point of view. This isn't the Alps, neither is it London or Manchester where budgets and aspirational vision are far greater.
Virtually full flight into LBA from DUB this morning and I guess around two thirds had transferred from long haul. The transfer at DUB worked perfectly from my JFK flight. LBA is the first Aer Lingus Regional out in the morning - there were around a dozen going around the UK from the same gate...
Leaving JFK tonight for my Aer Lingus return flight to LBA Friday morning. Here's hoping the return leg is as easy as the journey out. What do you reckon my chances are at LBA in the morning Aviador?!
Oh and after all my fears about late October delays, it was perfect at LBA at 6am. Excellent visibility, not a breath of wind, dry with a light cloud covering. No probs at all, just as Aviador predicted
En route from LBA to JFK with Aer Lingus using slightly dodgy onboard wifi. Terminal was heaving at LBA first thing but was coping fairly well. Flight was about 10 mins early so transfer in Dublin was easy. US immigration took around 15 minutes which beats doing it in JFK where the waits are...
I'm starting to watch this weekend's weather forecast with hope and trepidation. Flying out on EI3391 to DUB on Saturday morning with a 1hour 25min transfer window before EI0105 departs to JFK. Can't afford any delays. Any weather watchers out there who might be able to have a go at predicting...

Some of the locals' comments under this article are enlightening. If you scroll past the doomsayers and nimbys there are some quite informed comments about local...
