    Road, Rail & Access Issues

So happy that the A1 airport flyer now drops people off right in front of the terminal building again, and picks them up there as well. Makes a huge difference in terms of experience. Big thank you to whoever sorted that out. Now we just need to get the airport flyer back to pre-pandemic...

Bristol Airport Transformational Public Transport Hub

The construction site for this is massive, basically engulfing most of the remaining surface car parking north of the terminal if I saw that right. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to snap some pics earlier when passing it on the A1 bus, and I guess there isn't much to see yet anyway besides...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

Does the tweet not show up as part of the post for you? (Edit: I just tried in a private window, and see it doesn't. My apologies, I didn't realise. For me it shows the tweet as part of the post.)

Using Bristol Airport [Questions & Reviews]

Not impressed with the fast track service yesterday around 16.30. Took 20 minutes to get through, with performance/throughput monitors saying 29 minutes wait time in general (I assume that's the average wait time for the non-fast track queue).

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

So when can we expect an application for the next stage towards 15mppa to go in? Probably need to do that pretty soon in order to get it through by 2030? ;)

    Swiss

I wonder how many passengers are connecting. Was quite surprised to learn that in case of Brussels airlines it was about 90% or so (this was the number for one particular flight, don't know if it matches the general average).

Feedback Request Re: Forum layout feedback...

Personally I think airline-specific threads per airport subforum are fine and match exactly what I'm interested in. I personally don't care about what Wizz is doing in, say, Cardiff or Birmingham or Edinburgh, I just want to know what's happening at my local airport :) I wouldn't want to...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

Well spotted, didn't realise. Although that's not really what I'm confused about. I mean an elderly person with luggage, or a family with kids, might well take a bit longer to get up to the terminal than me with a small bag of hand luggage. What I'm wondering is where the extra 10 minutes in...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

I noticed a curious airport flyer journey time inconsistency: According to the airport flyer timetable, it takes ca. 18 minutes from West Street / Parson Street to the Airport (this seems right). Then another 5-10 minute walk from the bus station down at the MSCP up to the terminal. Now, if I...

Retail, Food & Drink Outlets Thread

It's really nice. Like a mini supermarket basically, and it's landside. It's just nice to know you can grab some basics on the way home even when arriving late at night. Best recent addition to the airport!

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

Looks like not all A1 bus drivers are up to speed on how ticketing works to the airport. Asked for a return on the way out. Driver says they don't do returns any more. Tells me to just tap my card, and how it will charge now for a single, and then on the way back it will only charge the...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

According to this article the A1 airport flyer service is due to increase in frequency. And not a minute too soon. Mind-boggling how it only runs every 20-30 mins during peak summer holiday season. I have to say I'm close to giving up on the airport flyer after using it for over a decade, no...

    Random Stuff!

I don't know if I agree with the idea that Bristol's hilly cityscape makes tall buildings look incongruous. I think it could make tall buildings fit in more naturally actually, like for example the Bath Rd high-rise being built at the moment (unpopular opinion, I know). Without the hills it...

Using Bristol Airport [Questions & Reviews]

Went through the airport in both directions last week. First time in a while. The airport experience itself was brilliant: no queues at check-in / bag-drop (KLM, 9am flight), no queues at security. Terminal somewhat busy, but didn't feel crowded. Not a lot of people were wearing masks in the...

    Aer Lingus

Hah, I thought you were hinting at the "Direct flights to the US from Manchester" announcement - guess that'd be a bit too ambitious

    Route Development & Rumours

Nice if backed by discussions happening in the background, but sounds otherwis pretty much like what's been repeated on a regular basis ever since the Newark route was lost. Though I guess Dubai is new?

Airport Master Plan for next 30 Years - Consultation

I don't know the man, but he seems slightly higher caliber than his predecessor, with actual governance experience in Westminster. It's not obvious to me his predecessor's party affiliation made much difference. The WECA election leaflets were all a bit of a joke really, and to be honest what...

    Route Development & Rumours

Out of curiosity, was the Continental route to EWR not supported by the airport? I always assumed it was, and that it was part of an effort to raise the profile of the airport with business travelers in general (the kind who pay for premium parking in MSCPs). Don't know how it works...
