    Security, Immigration & Border Control

The security check queues at terminal 1 at MAN on our outbound flight were fine , I would say not any worse than any other in the last few years, and I like everyone also am glad that the outbound checks are rigorous. It is the queues at passport control at arrivals, which is causing the most...

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

Increased security procedures at security for departures are understandable I agree, but the queues are at arrivals, and are other UK airports experiencing the same problems at arrivals as MAN?

    Security, Immigration & Border Control

What is going on with the huge queues at passport control in Terminal 1? The MEN has reports on this almost every other day. Me and my wife returned from DBV off Jet2 a few Saturdays ago and experienced the chaos ourselves. The technology at the e-gates seems totally inadequate for the job...

Any ideas if and when the new Cyprus Airways will start operating into MAN, I think their new livery is pretty nice, and it would be good to see them back.

    Jet2.com

I agree Ethan, the airlines that fly from MAN don't seem to be interested in people who want flight only, and this is probably reflected in the prices they ask. Sometimes cheaper to book a package and not use the accommodation. Maybe Jet2 would shake the market up a bit. Last time I visited they...

I do think that Skiathos is possible, they are extending the runway there to allow larger aircraft with heavier loads to make the return non-stop, and the popular island of Skopelos is just a short ferry ride from the port close to the airport. With Santorini accomadation I was on about either...

I agree Sherburn that Verona will probably appear sooner rather than later, but I'm not so sure about those particular Greek islands, they have very limited room to build more accommodation, and in the height of summer it can be difficult to find rooms on both Santorini and Mykonos unless you...

Now Jet2 have loaded their Summer 2018 programme from MAN, what are people's thoughts on possible additional routes? Verona is served from a few of their other bases. As for new destinations, seems they've got the popular places pretty much covered. What do others think about these places...

What are the chances of one of our based charter airlines starting to serve Comiso(CIY) Sicily next summer, and also maybe restarting flights to Samos in Greece, which for some strange reason has been missing for a number of years now. I was speaking to someone at Olympic holidays recently and...

How many more gates will we end up with? Isn't gate availability a problem already at certain times of the day?

    Air Arabia Maroc

Great news, another airline that will be nice to see at MAN. Morocco is quite a trendy destination at the moment, and as Ethan says, we might have a chance of Tangier in the future, seen quite a few travel programmes recently about it, and it's a really upcoming destination.

What happened to the planned expansion by Vueling at MAN?. Also is anyone planning to serve FLR in the near future, it has been mentioned as a destination that's missing from the Manchester departure boards many times. Orly is another place that I would like to see served from MAN, either by...

    Kuwait Airways

Maybe the STN move was the idea of MAG as the best option for Kuwait if indeed the issue of returning passengers home the same day was important. Is this the reason they have decided to stop using SNN, and it could be MAG's way of accomadating them until they start services that terminate at MAN.

Can't see why MCO wouldn't work for them, they have great product awareness in the North of the UK, and it's one of the biggest destinations from MAN. I personally know loads of people who travel there regularly, and privately rent accommodation using TCX or VS for their flights.

    Manchester Airport - General Thread

I was looking at Milan (MXP) on Wikipedia, and it shows that it handles around 20m passengers per annum. Looking at all the "holiday" routes that are served from there a large chunk of that 20m must be made up from those flights just like at MAN. They still manage to attract some great routes...

    Vueling

Surely they realise that they would fair better from MAN with routes to the Iberian peninsula and associated islands, especially with all the expatriate traffic that allows these routes to flourish in the winter. We visit southern Spain quite frequently, and often in the quieter winter months...

    Vueling

Maybe they should be looking more at some of routes that are on there network but not currently served from MAN. We now have Granada, Seville and hopefully will soon have Florence announced, which are all destinations they serve, and I thought they may have tried? Maybe as mentioned Orly would...

Can anyone explain why airlines such as Wizz and Blue Air continue not serve Manchester? Wizz are the largest low cost airline in Central/Eastern Europe, and many of the destinations they fly to from other airports are not currently served from MAN. With the huge growth in services and passenger...
