I accept that with the dollar at 1.23/1.24 against sterling, the US is likely to be too expensive for many British tourists on which MAN has relied, coupled with inflation in the US as well. As has been said, the exchange rate is attractive for Americans to come to the UK and Europe. But because...
Well Alia & TG still have slots I believe, but if neither comes to fruition, it would mean none of the 4 new long haul carriers that applied for slots at MAN will operate this summer. It's an understatement to say that would be disappointing. While it's true that the likes of Ryanair, easyjet...
3 of your flights diverted to MAN earlier - not all the wide bodies you got from us Thursday though. TOM815; EZY191 and RYR6335.
2 at least positioned back to BHX, possibly all 3.
Fortunately the fog didn't arrive and we've taken a couple of diversions from BHX this morning according to the arrivals board.
TOM 815 from BGI
EZY 191 from BFS
Add to that duo, RYR 6335 from Sofia.
I think that's enough bad news for today Scottie, but thanks for the information.
In the circumstances "route development" in this case is somewhat of a misnomer.
With credit to SPD Travels for this good news: -
New route
Easyjet to Paris Orly. Flights operate 5 weekly Mon-Fri
EJU4899 ORY 1310 MAN 1335;
EJU4900 MAN 1415 ORY 1650
Operates with A320. Times do vary by 5-10 minutes on some days, but rather than confuse with times, this is a base plate...
I assume that's based on the current slots requests. If I was looking at the right screens, the info seemed to stop about 4 July.
Saw Bangkok, but the board seem to jump from 12.00 to late afternoon on some dates so I didn't spot Amman.
Interestingly, Delhi and Mumbai appeared at one time but...
Then I'm puzzled about the 2 easyjets. However, having just checked on FR24 for the flight history, U28202 from Milan and U28232 from Pisa are both shown as diverted to MAN.
I was aware of the LBA diversion so, as you were, back to 11 diversions.
Were the times on the left the scheduled arrival times at STN? If anything arrived after midnight at MAN, would that show on the above or on today's
listing if it was due in STN before midnight?
Anyway, there's a correction to my list (as well as the typo). Apparently, the 2 x easyjets due to...
I believe we ended up with at least 11 diversions which included 6 Ryanair, 2 Norwegian, 2 easyjets and TK7830 - a WAW-STN diversion.
Some of those landed after MAN's own weather deteriorated and we were in RVRs. The airport seems to have been very accommodating so well done to them.
Some striking variations in daily ATMs with Mon, Fri & Sun significantly higher than Tues / Wed. That was the pattern in the summer as well.
Those Leeds diversions helped Monday.
Thanks as always Scottie. I notice there was no Hainan on Monday. Were the flights for September only or have they changed days do we know?
With the end of the peak summer season, the number of movements is slowly declining. Perhaps they will pick up briefly at half term.
I don't see any reference to Juneyao in your logs for the 4th & 6th of September Scottie, so didn't the flights operate? Whether any of the rest will turn up remains to be seen.
Yes, it's somewhat ironic that BA reduce their LHR flights at the same time Avanti are cutting the London trains from Manchester from 3 to 1 per hour. I guess August isn't the busiest month for business travel but it must be making life difficult for some folk.
Whilst it's perfectly correct that total passengers were down 17.9% on July'19, it's worth pointing out that Terminal pax fell rather less by 14.3%.
Transit pax were 139,229 in July'19 whereas this July were only 6,679. The latter is not surprising and presumably relates to some SQ flights...
