It’s amazing how things have changed. Rail really is a long slog up north into Scotland.
Remember the days of multiple Scotland flights with the BMI EMB’s too! Perfect aircraft for those routes also!
I would have thought it was OCS paying the fines at the moment, not sure what the costs are though.
I know that Jet2 this Summer had dedicated PSA’s to liaise with OCS and that was their only role for the day. It really did make things better!
Didn’t know if there was already a dedicated thread to this. Feel free to move or delete if not necessary.
The current OCS team are to become LBA employees apparently. The airport are going to take over control of this service just like they did with Security from OmniServe not so long ago.
No...
What’s even funnier is the current contractors have taken a massive hit on earnings from this development in delays and subsequent fines as well as extra costs. The airport have pitched the new lounge development to them and because they were detterred from the contract due to little profit...
We landed yesterday from AGP and from a passengers point of view for once, the airport is a little slow.
10minute wait for the buses.
Queue as far back as the escalator for immigration.
Additional 5 minute wait for luggage to process on the belt.
We landed at 1400 roughly I believe. It wasn’t...
To further KARFA’s point a lot of the Euro Fleet are ex Midlanders and therefore their basic contracts can not be touched.
Hence why they are so against Walsh and Cruz attempting to bully them out of BA altogether.
Obviously at the current time BA find it more feasible and profitable to have the aircraft based at LHR for now to use on another first wave route.
Unfortunately they won’t be eliminated though. Just look at what KLM are doing. No more UK based crews. I believe flight deck crew have another...
If it was a night stopper it would potentially be a 4 day operation similar to what KLM used to have. Although it could remain a 3 per day.
It’s £1.60 pp which BA are not willing to spend unfortunately. That is on the assumption of which it is full which is isn’t a lot of the time.
From...
BA Manager of NCL and LBA BA operations has before said that a night stop would add addition costs to the route of around £500k.
This takes into consideration crewing overnight for hotel, food and transport during the night stop, aircraft parking, handling costs, slot changes etc...
It is an...
Think it’s more the fact the airport haven’t asked Swissport to dispose of the gauges yet.
They were VERY quick to throw the Loganair gauge and Monarch barriers and gauges though!
Just watched an online video article from LBC Radio where a Monarch captain had phoned in to reveal that staff were all asked to phone in to a premium phone line to find out their fate regarding redundancy.
The captain has come away with a £40 phone bill from the call to find out he’d lost his...
It’s been happening vice versa too! Swissport have been having to organise coaches for the past week for Pax needing coaches to Manchester.
Don’t know whether it’s the airport or the CAA who have funded this but any of these Pax who are waiting for transport back to MAN have been provided with...
I was going to suggest maybe ask a question regarding it! I’d be interested to see whether they admit to planning it or whether they bat it away.
The works are coming on very nicely too, shouldn’t be too far away for the opening now all the major works have been done!
All of the advertising around the airport suggests the same WH. It’s the Airport themselves whom are discussing the moving of the lounge. I believe early plans are being drawn up too, and it’s on good authority that the free seating won’t be free seating for long.. shame really.
I think a lot of people see the job as just any old job and so won’t be giving 100% commitment.
A lot of people forget about the long hours, early mornings and late nights but that’s part and parcel of the industry, obviously given by the attendance issues raised and mentioned it probably isn’t...
If correct that only further emphasises the potential for two aircraft being based as oppose to it just being an upgrade to 1 75.
If the Palma is showing a late afternoon departure and we’re now hearing there’s an early Malaga and Tenerife departure on a Sunday then it does sound promising...
I believe when the transition came through from OmniServ to LBA contracts everyone was given the basic 20hours, unless you were a supervisor etc then you got a bit more.
They were more than likely told they would get more than 20hours but if they’re not then notional pay on 20hours is not a lot...
Heard today that when Monarch staff attempted to gain access to the LBA crew room and admin staff attempted to reclaim personal possessions after the overnight shocker, they were met with “Heavys” preventing access to former rented airline premises.
Unclear to find out whether they were from...
