US airlines have always focused on getting Americans to Europe. And Americans will use American airlines. Expect demand to drop dramatically. Europe hates Trump = Europe hates america. And therefore Americans will generally not go where they are not liked. So Europe will be off the travel...
Just like the Blues, new owners who have ambition cannot come soon enough. To be fair the pension fund did pump in a fair amount, but need to show more muscle and convince people not to trot off to other airports all the time.
Tell you what, concert the old Terminal into a Spot Joe Lycett tourist attraction and millions would come and visit.
Seriously though: why not the airport bring on board people like Joe? Think outside the box.
Sigh. I give up. It will probably stop 500 metres away with a lengthy walk through a urine infested tunnel to a basement next to the boiler and up a temporary out of order single three person lift to the terminal.
Welcome to Birmingham: THE CITY WHERE AMBITION PEAKED IN AUGUST 2022.
They...
We did it. Feels like some good times ahead. Not off to Wembley as away with my family.
Now many Blues fans would say some nasty things about the Villa. I will not: I wish them well tonight and hope they get a darn good result to bring back to the Park in two weeks. And get to the FA Cup final...
As long as that orange man and his madcap side kicks are in power, the US is going to be off limits. TUI were right to pull the plug. It will be interesting to see if EDI can sustain a dozen flights a day this summer.
Luton Airport is owned by the Council. If they can do it so can the councils who own BHX. Yes they are waiting for a new investor, but they must show more ambition. greater Birmingham councils are all too often too cautious.
The airport made a £42 million profit last year. Not bad on £184...
I could not agree more. There appears to be a lack of ambition at BHX to put in place the infrastructure and capacity for growth. A crap temporary tent does not wash when the old Eurohub was once earned for a proper concrete, steel and glass expansion.
The management need to get their act...
Given that the number of Canadians booking holidays in the USA has declined by 75%, and who can blame them, we may see the return to Toronto and other destinations in Canada, particularly if Brits decide on Canada as their north American destination of choice rather than mid Florida or Vegas...
Been woken up in the Holiday Inn by a steady stream of departures. Forgot how busy this aerodrome is. No BAC 1-11s or the odd Comet though, like those good old days on this side of the runway.
I was struck by a pretty full ramp around the old Eurohub. How many based aircraft do we have...
Not flying from BHX, but staying overnight at the BHX Holiday Inn this Friday. I grew up in Elmdon and always admired the wonderful Art deco, but never stayed there. Hopefully a half decent view of a multi storey car park of the backend of a rusting corrugated roof!
It may be a busy skyline construction wise in Birmingham but it has been a bit quiet when it comes to new schemes. So it was refreshing to see this today:

New 29 storey positive energy building at Gas Street. Bring it on.
If it was sabotage, I hope the ebike mounted $#&@s or the terrorist or whatever they are who did this are properly dealt with.
If it was an accident no doubt a gazillions of enquiries will be launched to reveal it as a dodgy fuse or something like that.
Feel for those affected, but the birds...
Thank you Matt. Your analysis should be the envy of even the CAA. Great stuff.
I wish the CAA would bring back the old summary page which detailed monthly and yearly figures and growth. But that will give you less to do, Matt!
Anyway. Our market share has increased by 0.2 percentage points...
