Yes, I think WH has mentioned in ACC reports that although the airport are looking for longer haul destinations they are not seeking out wide body operators.
I think the airport normally have about 50 places on offer and expect 15% drop out rate, so 20-25 is low. It could be some of the locals attended the event in Burley or Otley.

I assume some airlines see routes as economical without the need for cargo. Narrow body aircraft are pretty useless for cargo. In any case it wouldnt be viable for the airport to reopen a cargo facility for any less a couple of wide bodies a week.

Having said that, the airport have said they are addressing the issue with Wizz Burley overflights for how long? 2 years.

Thats a sensible approach just be rational. Normally he starts the meeting by saying attendees can give a 'personal statement' but that he wont enter into a debate or accept diatribes. Questions come at the end.

Im thinking more of an Easyjet base. The 'November announcement' was mentioned in connection with flights to a Med' destination served by both Easy and Ryanair, but mainly the former.
Im still hoping 'my' November announcement happens. I suspect it may be relevant to Easyjet, but its only a suspicion. Its a couple of months since I heard about it and as we know two months is a long time in aviation!
Thats great. Charles Johnson told me he had engaged with the council so that the trees on airport AND council land would be cut down, I didnt believe him about the latter but Im really pleased its now been done.
