My guess is that like most electronically controlled devices these days, the operation of the lifts via the buttons will be programmable. I suspect that they are currently being used in a 'basic' mode and will be optimised as more data is gained on their usage.
I don't know for sure, if the 747's uplift cargo from BHX, but I don't think so. All the flights inbound from HKG, have an intermediate stop and I noticed that the ROM Cargo B747 from HKG flew at FL300, indicating it was very heavy. It flew back to HKG direct.
As for extra cargo flights to the...
I'm sure it's been discussed previously, but surely there has to be an alternative to lifts for fire regulations. I was taught from a young age, never to use lifts in a fire evacuation and I believe that their operation is stopped under such circumstances.
I guess that depends on whether they have the resources (aircraft, crew) available to add extra flights. I believe that I read somewhere that Qatar have completed repairs to all of their A350s.
FR24 is showing 2Excel B737-700 (G-NEWG, BRO922P) due from Dubai (DWC) tomorrow at 13:12. No departure from BHX showing.
That seems a long way, for a little 737.
Steve Harley (Cockney Rebel) RIP
Saddened to learn that Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel, best known for their hit 'Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)' has passed away aged 73.
RIP, Steve and thanks for one of my all time favourite songs.
Safely on the ground now (which is the important part). The holding pattern at low altitude, was probably to burn off fuel to get below the maximum landing weight.
Ian's post in the Birmingham Airport Cargo Operations thread -
indicates that it is a third operator on the route. The other two being Air Atlanta Icelandic (in it's various guises) and One Air. I'm not sure wht they're transporting, but there must be a lot of it.
[EDIT] - WAMOS A330-300...
FR24 is showing RAF A400M (ZM412, RRR4957) due from Izmir (ADB) at 16:25. Departs to BZZ at 18:15, using the same flight number.
ROM Cargo Airlines B747-400F (YR-FSA, RCR3313) is now showing on FR24 due from Sharjah (SHJ) at 18:47. No departure from BHX showing.
I view the forum in 'Classic Dark' mode', which I really like and if anything, I prefer your 'cut & paste' presentation over the screenshots. I find the white text against a black background far easier on the eyes, than black text against a white background. I hope that is useful information for...
The ROM Cargo B747-400F (YR-FSA) that Ian says is due on Saturday evening -
Has departed HKG and is heading West South West over Vietnam, but destination is shown on FR24 as 'N/A'. No info is showing for it's arrival at BHX. I assume that like the other B747-400F flights from HKG, that it will...
Does that include cargo such as that carried in the belly hold of the EK B777?
I guess that the only alternative to that, would be to build extra facilities, but for that the airport would have to be very confident of long term cargo business, otherwise it would be a very expensive gamble.
Please lets keep it simple and not have posts all over the place in different threads.
If a post relates to new/re-instated services by an airline, or a permanent upgrade/downgrade of an aircraft type, then it should be posted in that airline's thread for that airport.
If the post is more...
I'm not sure what the problem is, but it's showing as a red symbol on FR24, which is usually an emergency squawk (7700?). it appears to be heading SW at 5000ft (inbound MAN?).
Please can you post them under each airline's individual forum (e.g. Birmingham Airport Forum > Easyjet, Ryanair etc). The BHX Movements and Heads Up thread is for one off flights, sports charters etc. This helps to keep the forum neater and more easily searchable.
Thanks.
TUI B737-MAX8 (G-TUMM, BY8028) is operating BHX - BHX. Departed 21:44 and is currently in a racetrack pattern at FL380, West of Sumburgh. ETA back at BHX is 00:37. Is this a Northern Lights, or training flight?
