Cornwall Airport Newquay - General Thread

tomorrow see’s that start of what is set to be a busy summer this year. 10 depts on the board compared to 6 at CWL, NQY really will feel different again this year. I flew out to Dublin last week and the only thing I will say is that I have no idea how the terminal and tiny facilities will...

Agree with all the points. Many people look east for long haul connections to Asia. Istanbul and Turkish have a good offering against the big ME3 and I don’t see them rocking up any time soon. From what I hear, NCL sounds like the next UK airport on their hit list so we might have to wait a bit...

I’d rather see Turkish at Bristol - many more options available with that route and airline. My opinion - it’s what Bristol needs…

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

reading the news about CWL - Not great for the welsh government when it comes to the public purse and financial losses and Wizz pulling out, it’s another big blow. With BRS stating possible further big growth this year with passenger numbers, what do we think the long term prospects are across...

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

Yeah I did wonder what more airside ground they could find to increase with planning to extend to 10m passengers. It ain’t big unless they go they other side? Maybe they need to put ATC over there and use some of that area?

    Ryanair

Impressive given the size and location of the airport. Very happy to see this. They must be confident of inbound passengers to Cornwall. I’m really interested to see if Malaga has impact on Alicante and Faro. I’d hate the year round Alicante to go.. I use it regularly out of season and good...

Have we confirmed fleet sizes for airlines based at Bristol for this summer? What can they physically overnight at the airport?

With 5 a day in action it makes you wonder why AF have not wanted a slice of this? Sounds like a significant amount of passengers

Bringing Manchester back from Feb… I thought they had the hump with Newquay over flybe? Next question, how much capacity does Manchester to Newquay need? Flybe, easyJet and Logan air?

Cornwall Airport Newquay - General Thread

Interesting… I’ve always believed that there would be a right time to consider a sale to the private sector. Although the council haven’t done a bad job overall in my opinion it’s not core business of one either and I think for true development, it should be undertaken by a private consortium...

Someone should drop them a ‘curious’ email as to why..? Surely a big untapped market? Good on Newcastle I guess. They have a good mix of scheduled state carriers..

    Ryanair

Great news here to compliment Alicante year round and Faro. Surprised on Malaga given they do this out if Exeter so they must be confident. Dublin - good competition for AL and with STN, LGW and LHR all available, capacity to the capital is massive!

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

I know there is still lots of movement but do we have a feel for based aircraft? So total needing night stands? Is LH increasing? Did I hear rumours of Munich or was I dreaming?? Also Düsseldorf - not sure why that hasn’t appeared. Regular summer charter out of Newquay and we no the Germans like...

    Route Development & Rumours

When you look at where Turkish fly to and are looking at as new routes into Europe, I find it staggering that Bristol isn’t in that list. Passenger numbers and capture area (South Wales and wider southwest) surely make is one of the big untapped markets? 1664225701 Should have also said that I...
