Cornwall Airport Newquay - General Thread

Interesting - I’m not sure what I make of Logan air but pretty sure someone will pick up their bigger routes to NQY. Summer is getting much busier with flying tourists…

Cornwall Airport Newquay - General Thread

Just as we get good news with Flybe, seems like Logan air are pulling back and consolidating their schedules and routes…

    Flybe

Good news re LHR - that provides excellent links to London and competition to eastern on the LGW route. Assume year round? Might be that BA pull back for summer 23 with Flybe also in the mix? Manchester is also very well connected with easyJet, Logan air and now Flybe allbeit summer much more...

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

Flew into Bristol last night. Absolute chaos with no ground staff to marshal aircraft onto stands, off load passengers and very poor passenger control around border control.. I’m very pro the airport and it’s plans for expansion but they really do need to think about how they achieve this and...

Cornwall Airport Newquay - General Thread

With edelweiss landing this week, NQY has a good mix of airlines this year with 9 serving this little airport. Also Jet2 last couple of weeks from Manchester. Don’t see that listed but that would have been three airlines from Manchester!

    Lufthansa

Great news! I wonder if Lufthansa see any benefit in Munich also from BRS?

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

Who knows.. 🤷‍♂️ it’s bound to have an impact but people have lots of pent up demand to travel and do things.. only time will tell..

    Bristol Airport - General Thread

press is all bad for the current queues out of the airport and knock on issues. Hope it doesn’t impact them longer term with passengers.. I understand there is a workforce crisis (everywhere in every sector) however it does make you think that the terminal really isn’t that big to manage the...

    TUI Airways

Are TUI due to fly the max 10 and do we think we will see from BRS? I did wonder if that was due to replace the 757’s although I know they now have more aircraft and capacity overall based out if BRS.

    Route Development & Rumours

Good news but I’m the same, Istanbul I would like. I really thought we would see Turkish at BRS by now - they have an excellent hub for onward connections. I wonder what BRS need to do to secure this or an ME route. It would really compliment their route network.. I think it’s shown their is...

    Route Development & Rumours

Probably should have added this to the Long haul chat but do we think post pandemic Qatar may look at BRS again over CWL? Would they get more bang for their buck at BRS?? Are Emirates being talked to In the background with impending Dreamliner capability coming on line? Have they dumped ME...

    CAA Provisional Statistics Update

I wonder if this is the year NQY starts to push on again? Pre pandemic and when Flybe was the monopoly, it really felt like it was on the up. for me, I’d really like to see private ownership of the airport and some serious marketing of its usage both internal and for the masses of foreign...

    Jet2.com

So how many are this year? Is it 7 for the summer? I agree on the space at BRS - they have used well. Really hope they can push ahead with expansion plans.. the terminal feels full mid summer and it really needs some attention for more space..

    Jet2.com

If they do have 7/8 aircraft, can BRS accommodate them all? How many stands? I’d like to know the total based aircraft overnight with jet2 increase… Impressive however as someone said for year 2 of operations

    Eurowings

What were the loads like to Munich? They have good onward connections with LH.. Eurowongs might be good on a Düsseldorf service possibly. Germany very under serviced in my opinion..

Airport Master Plan for next 30 Years - Consultation

Well they would.. let it go and focus on other things I say.. Plenty to pick at. Airports are a favourite target. I don’t see this crap going on so much around airport development in the rest of Europe. The UK is a terrible example of development planning (my opinion)

Airport Master Plan for next 30 Years - Consultation

This is excellent news. Such an important asset to our region. It’s important to have the green ambition and glad to see these in their plans but the reality is that every leading/developing economy or region needs good airport access. let’s hope we see some good route and airline development too…
