So will the section between Pier B and C be fully operational with lights by end of year? Does this include sections, currently checker boarded off and out to runway
Remember MCR is essentially half a low cost airport. Low cost travel will only increase. MCR will marginally increase its share of long haul possibly over years, but not significantly!
Nobody seems to know how passengers will board aircraft parked on Pier C once T1 closes? It remains a mystery! Can't see them replacing airbridges and legacy T2 airbridges if Pier 3 and 4 are still planned. That said, it could be MAG may decide to keep costs down and retain the latter and...
Now all airbridges are defunct on T3. What's the plan for removal. Or will be mothballed? Seems pointless maintaining them anymore!
Can't see any demolition happening for many years....need to make more progress with T2, pier 3, maybe pier 4, then demo Pier C, rebuild pier B then take down...
Now Pier 2 is complete. Does anyone know what timescale is for Pier 3, any guesses? I think 2030 at earliest!? Any news re cargo sheds demolition for new remotes too?
The airport have certainly kept Pier 2 opening very quiet. I wonder if they intent to announce grand opening of completion of T2, Pier 2 and dual Ops in one media shot! We can then look forward to next one T3 reconfiguration opening in 26!?
Thanks for detailing this.....would you say better experience v T3? Looks pretty grim and cobbled together to me. Suspect they will so similar on Pier C too
Suspect will be quite a while before dual taxiway fully operational. Most of it still sectioned off between B and C and to runway. No lines painted yet. Probably have fo wait until sustained clement weather!
Who knows what will happen. Certainly the vision is to continue T2 expansion and bring Pier 3 and poss 4 on line. Pier C will eventually go and Pier B rebuild aligned to remodelled T3 utilising old T1 space. Who knows T1 will ever be demolished, Certainly old towers are an eyesore!! For now...
That's going to be some operation. Running all those buses with all those people to all those stands!? Surely something more slick in the pipeline. What a grim passenger experience to get to a plane!
No steps at Pier C. At least we know airbridges will still be use then once it ' becomes part of T2'. We just to find out please, how passengers will physically enter Pier C to use airbridges?
