EDI was a base until 2020 (never reopened after Covid). This summer, there will be two weekly flights on TUI Airways (PMI and CFU W-patterns) as well as using other airlines such as BA.
In 2019, they had 2 s/h aircraft at GLA, 1 at EDI and 1 at ABZ. This summer, they will have 4 at GLA only...
Didn’t they just recently add the second weekly summer SSH? Only to drop it completely now before waiting for January bookings. Looks like they are making cuts across the board, HRG seems to be affected at other bases.
I imagine the timings will change to make MAN-DLM-LBA-DLM-MAN work using one aircraft. They did w-patterns to DLM last summer. The cost of positioning an aircraft in would be unnecessary and I suspect it would cause more issues re needing to have more capacity in the schedule. Plus, if the...
Looks like yesterday’s LBA-CFU didn’t operate. G-TAWI did MAN-CFU-LBA then remained on the ground until this morning before positioning back to MAN.
The flight appears to be operating this evening, albeit from DSA instead. Not sure what will happen to the cruise passengers as I assume the ship...
Nope, it didn’t go. Far from an isolated issue though. For example, on Saturday afternoon, it looks like two of the BRS flights didn’t operate and the ones that did all left with 4+ hour delays. I also know one of the GLA afternoon flights didn’t go. These are sadly a drop in the ocean amongst...
I’m assuming a last minute need from TUI - their ops appear to have been pretty chaotic recently, don’t seem to be coping at all since the summer season started and it’s only very early in the season.
Looks like bringing the 767 in hasn’t worked out. As noted above, TUI’s operations appear to have been pretty chaotic over the last week with endless positioning flights and swapping of aircraft. Some of that is to be expected due to it being the beginning of the season but I do think it’s been...
In the early days of the 787, TUI did operate a couple of aircraft as short-haul only in the summer in an all-economy (9 abreast) layout. However, the recent news would suggest it’ll be an ACMI aircraft.
They have now done a similar thing at EDI. We had one based 737 for around 8/9 years and the base seemed to be doing well enough, not really any of the diverting issues LBA suffered from but then they can’t blame weather here. Then Covid hit and they just seemed to give up, with a minuscule...
Good news and not surprising, would be silly of them to drop ski flights from EDI.
I believe the base closes at the end of April as there are very few based flights for S22, a very poor offering unfortunately, yet ironically, still operating trips to CUN and MLB.
They say they’re closing EDI from S22 but the reality is they haven’t operated a flight from EDI since December 2020 and I’m really not convinced they’ll operate a single flight between now and S22 either.
I find it bizarre as (COVID aside) there is no shortage of demand from EDI. I think it’s...
The release on the BRS website states 3x based aircraft for S21.

For Scotland, it would appear that the new tier system due to come into force from tomorrow will not add any further restrictions on international travel. The Canary Islands are on the exemption list for quarantine and so these flights may well continue to go ahead as planned. There were several...
I have heard that G-BYAY will be leaving the fleet imminently, so assuming G-OOBN is its “replacement” at BHX. That being said, BN hasn’t flown at all since arriving at BHX last week, and hasn’t actually flown a revenue flight in almost three weeks.
