Interesting. Having had a look at FR24, it doesn’t appear to show the above – it shows that the flight left LTN, reached Brittany and then turned and diverted straight to BRS. Of course it’s posisble that FR24 is incorrect but it seems unlikely unless the aircraft returned to LTN before leaving...

It is a puzzling one but I think a possible reason would be the (possible?) ability to achieve higher yields out of BRS even where CWL can fill seats. Also, BRS is the larger base and TUI seem to be keen on using the 787 on short-haul out of BRS (not even done at BHX) so it would probably...

I can see your logic but can’t imagine they’d particularly want to position a plane from BHX either (which still hasn’t left). Th original aircraft (ZG) is now getting ready to do MAN-AYT (over 2 hours late).

Nope, it was a 738 G-FDZG. It was around 3 hours delayed so this could be a factor? Only more inconvenient for the passengers though.

CFU-LBA flight has diverted to MAN, doesn’t look like it ever planned to go to LBA, straight into MAN. G-TAWB has positioned BHX-LBA to operate the outbound.

The Edinburgh TOM base is fairly new – I believe they first based one of their own 737s in 2014. However, a summer service was provided some years prior by the likes of Astraeus, Monarch, and latterly Sunwing; with a (part-based) winter service being provided by TOM themselves. There is now a...

G-TAWX (CWL) is doing the CFU. Thought they might have positioned it over to BRS but I guess they had many hours to bus the passengers up. G-TAWI (BRS) is back on schedule operating this evening's BRS-LPA-BRS.

Am I correct in saying the CFU flight didn’t go this morning? G-TAWI has been idle at BRS for 10 hours. The flight isn’t showing on TUI’s list of departures and shows a scheduled but no actual departure on FR24. FR24 indicates this was the first week of the flight but perhaps this is wrong and...

TUI have swapped today’s CFU and NBE around as additional passengers are shipped down from MAN to head to CFU.

It has been idle at CWL for 7 hours since coming in from FAO. I’m assuming FR24 is wrong when it indicates a TUI flight CWL-ZTH at 13:35? Perhaps this starts later in the season as it doesn’t appear to have gone last week or this week? G-TAWS is also running around 3.5 hours late all day today.

I imagine it’ll be due to crew hours as it was heavily delayed going down to SID yesterday. It was a 738 G-TAWI. Currently on its way back. G-TAWM is also doing STN-HER-BRS.

The only bases due to have MAXs based for S19 were EDI, GLA and MAN.

I’m not “in the know” but perhaps it’s an issue on the HER side rather than with TOM. Possibly HER is very busy at the original time etc.

Read elsewhere that someone's seat map is showing as a 757 for a BRS S19 flight. I have also read the same thing for GLA (supposedly will be 1x738 and 1x757, was planned as 2x7M8). Jethros also reporting that the lease on G-CPEV has been extended to cover MAX issues.

It looks like the MAX aircraft will only be based arc EDI, GLA and MAN for S19. https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/282311/thomson-airways-s19-737-max-8-operations-as-of-04jan19/?highlight=Thomson Presumably this is to make use of better efficiency as these airports are further...
