I don't think those other increases are anything to shout about though despite it not being 'doom and gloom' either. We've lost easyJet too and the increases from the aforementioned carriers are pretty lackluster. This at a time where other non-London airports are still expected to see double...
Noticed that this afternoon taxiway Delta has been closed, meaning departing a/c have been backtracking from November. Anyone know the reason for this?
It's still a downgrade having only one operator on the route. I was also shocked to see the new SOU route - plus they're going against flybe at an airport half the size of LBA.
I know it's a long shot but on the BHX forum they're reporting the full schedule hasn't been loaded yet. Either way it's great to see Monarch holding their ground after Jet2 and Ryanair expansion. Some of Monarch's new routes from its other bases such as Lisbon, Porto and Stockholm would be...
Flew out to BCN with Monarch yesterday, the flight was about 70% full. Regarding the airport and the timings of the flight it was very smooth, less than 10 minutes wait for security during the afternoon peak.
However that's where the positives end. Had the flight from hell, luckily only 2 hours...
Used the Saltaire bar yesterday lunchtime before flying out to BCN. My partner commented on how expensive the food was but as it's the only option to have some 'proper' hot food and sit down excluding Burger King etc. The food was actually alright, definitely better than anything else on offer...
Well, with no sign of MOL changing his outlook on the UK since before brexit was even voted for I highly doubt it, at least for next year. That being said, we will eventually have certainty about what's going to happen and so will Ryanair so I don't doubt UK based expansion in the future.
I too...
Hopefully this new franchise deal will help to grow passenger numbers on the existing routes and potentially help stabilise Eastern a bit after their recent internal issues. Personally though, I would much prefer mainline Flybe to open new routes rather than doing so with Eastern. Unless Eastern...
Although Jet2 might see the DUS route as not fitting with its current holiday oriented business model, in the last 6 months the route has been growing slowly. In April, an average of 85 passengers were on each flight. If Flybe can keep the majority of these passengers I wouldn't be surprised to...
Agreed - and they were even bold enough to launch DSA-CDG at 13x weekly - unlikely such a commitment would ever be made in one go at LBA regarding the current state of Flybe but they were obviously aware of the apparent lack of capacity from Yorkshire to Paris.
Also confirmed the route will be...

Operates Mon-Fri and Sunday and appears to be operated by a DUS based a/c or W leg. Interestingly it commences on 29th October meaning we presently have 2 operators lined up for winter 2017/18 unless Jet2...
The previously rumoured Iberia Express route to MAD would have been great, but if they're not going to get their act together then this really opens up more options as I believe LBA-MAD point to point traffic would be stronger on RYR. These figures really are excellent, surely it's only a matter...
Yeah I was thinking the same, they made the decision pretty soon after the go-around. The aircraft G-LSAK back inbound to LBA from MAN as LS258W. Unsure if the passengers are still on board but either way its always bad PR when a/c have to divert on what is just a fairly average day for weather.
Well in that case it certainly wasn't used as regularly - AP1 was but I don't recall any others on a nightly basis. The point is we have 2 more night stopping aircraft this summer and looking like an additional one in 2018. Plus it's not exactly ideal having aircraft parked on taxiways - if any...
Noticed that for this summer a second non-standard overnight parking position will be used at the end of taxiway N known as NP2. Last night the last arriving Jet2 B737-800 also parked on taxiway A behind stand 14 with a marshaller. Just wondering if this is going to be a regular occurrence too...
Ryanair from Gdansk positioned in as RYR150 and KLM1551 repositioned from EMA. The LS228 aircraft G-CELE on the way from EMA as LS019P and LS274 G-GDFD from NCL as LS015P. Just 2 Jet2 B733's left at MAN and EMA respectively so hopefully by the morning they'll be back too.
