Great pics as usual Aviador. :good:
Off topic - I'm visiting family up in Hartlepool this weekend and combining it with going to the Sunderland Airshow on Sat and Sun - amongst the displays are the Red Arrows, Two Tornado's, a Typhoon and the BBMF. Both days are free if anyone is interested...
Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
When I lived in Otley it was very rare to see it, now living in Leeds near the Irish Centre I don't think a week goes by without it overhead. Yesterday it was here twice, very low in the afternoon, and also in the evening. Guess that's the inner city for you!
Watching news reports today about queues at immigration and I saw that the revolving red radar dish atop the concrete tower had STOPPED!!! :shok: :shok: Every time I've ever seen it it has been going round and round. I thought it never stopped! Has it broken?
Re: Which Camera Should I Use?
I'd get a bridge camera CL. And as for the ipad, well, at the rate Apple churn out their overpriced stuff, there'll be an ipad 20 before we have a sniff of a 777 at LBA!
Has that bench been put back channex757? I used to stand on its concrete frame to get over-the-fence shots, but last time I went to the tunnel the bench was gone and a new, much higher, fence was in the process of being erected. Even if the bench is back I'd assume shots over the new fence would...
Just been looking at the photos in the gallery of all the new development, and noticed the walls were a bit bare. Wouldn't it be great if White Heather and LBA could arrange for her photos of aircraft from the 80's and 90's to be framed and put up around the airport? Would brighten the place up...
Re: Nostalgia Thread
Just spent what seems like an eternity looking at all those old pics of aircraft at LBA! Well done White Heather and Aviador for taking the time to scan and post them. :hatsoff:
Re: camera type
I'd recommend a camera with a minimum 10x optical zoom if you're wanting far-off shots. Argos are selling a Samsung WB690 for £90 with 12mp, 18x optical, and 720p movies. I was looking at a Nikon P510 in Tesco recently. It has a whopping 42x optical zoom, 16mp, full HD movies...
Fly down the day before and stay in one of the many hotels around LHR or in London itself, that's what I did. No worries about the consequences of delayed flights from LBA then.
Here's Wednesdays PIA coming and going.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
I thought it was a missed approach and that it would come back round and try again. According to someone at the cemetery it was checking the ILS system. Anyway here's the pics I got of it....
Sometimes the Emirates one heading into/out of MAN can be seen flying south of Leeds city centre around between 11-16000ft, along with a PIA 777 and the Beluga.
I'm certainly no new generation flyer, and have flown Ryanair a few times and don't understand why they get so much criticism. I was just replying to that post about never getting charged to enter Duty Free. :whiteflag:
Wawkrk you have to upload the pics to an alternate site (I use Photobucket), then paste the image code onto here. You could also upload them directly from your computer onto the Photo Gallery here on F4A, then ask one of the moderators such as Aviador to move them to this page.
