The 747 may BE old but in no way is it starting to LOOK old!! A Spitfire looks old compared to an F-16 but a 747 doesn't look old compared to newer aircraft like 777's or a380's. And they certainly don't seem to be rarer, at least going by the amount in&out of the likes of Heathrow. Every time I...
Re: Infrastructure Developments
I prefer walking out to the aircraft rather than using an airbridge, had to do it Tuesday for flight to Dublin. It's great to be right up next to them you get a true sense of the size of the things, and get great photos too!
Re: Infrastructure Developments
Interesting how there's no security personnel in the newly named "search zone". Might be worth trying to sneak my 200ml deodorant and 500ml mouthwash through!!!!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
I doubt it was a passenger aircraft Michael. It was probably a military one, maybe another C-17 there's been a few of 'em, or just the same one, flying over this area lately. One flew over Otley a few weeks ago quite low.
Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
Police helicopter currently circling low over Weston estate here in Otley I've been looking at it through binocs - hope that's not illegal :dunno:
Thanks to everyone who's replied I guess 45 mins should be ok, added to the half hour I'm giving myself to wait to board. It was just that loadsa Jet2's depart in the morn and if each one has 100+ passengers aboard I thought the queues may be horrendous. Although, considering Heathrow, LAX...
Just booked Ryanair LBA-Dublin for next month out Tues back Thurs - the outward flight is 6.30am. I've never flown from LBA that early before - does anyone know how packed it is at that time with regards to getting through security? I've never spent more than a few mins getting through security...
Re: Getting to LBIA with a First Day Rider...
Galaxy are you saying that in order to get from Cookridge to LBA you got a bus from Cookridge to Leeds in order to catch a bus from Leeds to the airport???? That seems a bit much! Especially seeing as how you missed the 757 to LBA and had to catch...
Re: Getting to LBIA with a First Day Rider...
If you can't use a Dayrider on the 757 the only other thing is to get the 33a and get off at the lights near the Premier Inn and walk the rest.
http://www.wymetro.com/BusTravel/BusStationsAndStops/LCBS is what you want. Scroll down to see a list of destinations and an 8-digit number next to each one. Click on the number next to 757 and a box pops up with the next buses from that stop (which is stand 15). Or use the journey planner to...
Re: getting to LBA?!
Even though Aviador can claim "site founders privilege" or something I couldn't resist a jokey ticking off at a breach of the rules! Hope you manage to find LBIA Pinkheart (it may be England's highest airport but "International" airports wouldn't be so if they were hard to...
Rhinoscrazy I too think it would be good if Easyjet did flights from LBA. More competition for Jet2 and Ryanair can only lead to lower prices. And I too think we are long overdue a regular direct link with the USA, not just Jet2's xmas flights. Surely an airline can do what PIA are doing to...
Re: getting to LBA?!
Aviador can you please keep this forum for discussions about getting to LBA and no more holiday pics thank you!!
