Re: Arrivals - Departures information.
The whole concept of the arrivals board is a disgrace. The airport need to do something about it. If we ever have a rare destination from LBA, take Jeddah for example, they seem not able to spell it and the area appears blank. Useless at its very best.
Indeed, it was closed due to new paint to be layed for stand one for when an aircraft is to be parked nose out. The aircraft now follows the yellow line and a marshaller will be there to tell him when to stop as normal.
Okay maybe not Vilnius. Dont FR fly there from some of their UK bases...does anyone know how well they do?
Still, its good to see some sort of dedication and sustainability from a non-uk airline like Wizz to the airport.
This is definately one airline who seems to be sticking with DSA when most other operators have come and gone. Good news for the airport though, not so much for the expansion of LBA however big or little it will effect im not sure but well done to DSA, sure it will provide a good pax throughput...
One of PK's Boeing 777-240LR's used last week on the Transit flight they offer. Only four years old i believe, so relatively young, especially compared to rest of their fleet.
This Boeing 757-200wl N19130 with "UNITED" titles visited last week to operate the CO service to Newark (EWR) from T2.

Re: Movements & Heads Up
Air Transat Airbus A310-300 C-GTSF had a short and rare visit to MAN over the weekend. En route from CDG to Montreal, it stopped by in MAN for some extra fuel.

As far as i know guys , PK only have two 200LR's in operation and they are used for seriously long haul routes (ie: for their design as LR aircraft) and doubt we will see them untill they get more of the type or indeed the 787. But you are right, the 200 series could operate from LBA fully laden...
If that happens heather, can you imagine with all the morning departures, the PIA landing also which needs turning around. It will be turmoil out the front of the terminal, through security and in departures.
I guess Size doesnt always matter then...? I mean yes DSA nice long runway, but it hasnt had much luck in persuading airlines to start up or at least sustain any routes for the local area.
Yeah, they are not common really at all.
The smaller A330 is more commonly used along with the B777. Etihad have used this exact aircraft on a number of occasions on their MAN service, not sure if thats pure coincidence...
Re: KLM cityhopper B.V
Okay, so with so much news happening recently at LBA, could this really be something else the airport can boast about? What choices, as far as UK bases to KLC have to choose from?
Re: Infrastructure Developments
The amount of times i have heard pilots talking about this issue.
It is putting airlines off, and as Aviador says is a serious priority for LBA now. The time it takes each aircraft to back track and line up then it has to takeoff before another aircraft is...
Etihad used this Airbus A340-600 A6-EHF,on the Abu Dhabi route over the weekend. Lovely aircraft captured on rotation from runway 05L.
