Daily Direct Link from BHX to the US

I most sure what your concern is…. BHX has carried 12,995,000 pax in the year up to March 2025, GLA carried 8,136,000 pax in the same timeframe…. We carry nearly 5,000,000 pax more a year than GLA! I single flight that carried less than 100 pax is not a concern. EasyJet carried more pax on...

    Saudia

I believe there was over 200 pax on each of today’s inbound and outbound flights and SV carried even more pax than Qatar today… May is always a quiet month but SV is carrying much more pax this year from BHX than they did last year!

Close to zero I would expect. Never say never but unless something changes, they have only 2 bases in the UK - LGW and LTN - and closes their 2 regional bases at DSA and CWL. I therefore doubt they have any interest in a base in the UK outside of London

O'Leary may dislike Brexit and UK politics, but he also hates offering a free pass to the likes of Easyjet and Jet2 who are currently carrying those pax to the likes of Morrocco ...hopefully things change soon!

Looks like a copy and paste of the Summer 2025 schedule atm but good to see them on sale... pretty early for them!

Who said numbers are falling? Yes EK have not recovered back to their pre-pandemic numbers BHX but ever since Covid, they have grown YoY at BHX. Its their market share that is falling.

    Emirates

Just being doing some analysis on long-haul scheduled pax flying east out of BHX which shows what Emirates is currently up against. Our busiest year for flights going east out of BHX was 2017 when 1.284m pax flew east on our long-haul scheduled flights. This equated to 9.9% market share of all...

Lets just hope for all involved this is a flash in the pan that doesn't escalate... we have enough war and uncertainty in the world both in an outside of aviation. Figures crossed all de-escalate and normality resumes soon enough.

I would very much hope we keep the 388 regardless as: a) 2x 77W and 1x 359 would only result in an extra 110 daily seats, not the extra 300 seats we would get if the 359 was added to our existing schedule, and b) the business class on the 77W are much poorer compared to the 388 meaning i would...

    Emirates

I suspect with all of the EK 2 Class A388's now back in operation, the chance of us seeing the 2nd daily 388 return will be slim. I suspect that in the event EK want to gown at BX, the most likely approach will be with the re-introduction of the 3rd Daily flight, maybe in the form of a 350 or 787.

im hoping this is just a temporary website/timetable issue and that bokings come back for xmas but who knows. They were 4x weekly last winter and daily in summer so would be a shame to loose them, especially when they are expanding in london and manchester.

Daily Direct Link from BHX to the US

The same reason why Emirates fly DXB-MXP-JFK or Singapore fly SIN-FRA-JFK when both airlines fly direct to those destinations... The airlines see there is additional demand between MXP-DXB or FRA-SIN but not enough to fill an entire flight. They also see there is extra demand between DXB/MXP or...
