    Infrastructure, Construction & Developments

Back to the topic of Construction and Infrastructure, BHX seem to have updated their website, discussing in detail all of the works currently underway which is pretty insightful regarding how the airport will change over the next 12 months.... World of Duty Free Changes Following the move of...

    CAA Provisional Statistics Update

As we get to the last day of August, its worth noting that while we will have to wait a few weeks or months for the final figures.... August will have been the Busiest Month on Record at BHX with over 1.5 Million Pax - the first time this milestone has been passed in a month at the airport...

    Route Development & Rumours

SunExpress is 50% owned by Turkish Airlines... Their ownership doesn't mean a route wont start. AJets hubs at SAW and ESB operate very different models to Turkish Airlines hub at IST so who knows....

    Route Development & Rumours

I don't doubt that is the case, and I don't doubt Nick Barton meets many prospective airlines to attract them to come to BHX, especially when it comes to negotiations and sealing the deals. But that's not what World Routes is about. When an event is attended by 250 airlines and a similar...

    Route Development & Rumours

Well regardless, of the 21x UK airports attending World Routes, Hong Kong in 2025, only 2x Airport CEO's from those airports are listed as attending

    Route Development & Rumours

If you think a CEO being available to respond to disasters or severe disruption is part of day to day operational decisions, I think we have very different ideas of what running an airport is like.

    Route Development & Rumours

I'm not sure I understand that logic to be honest. Demand tends to be based on routes, not airlines. If there is not demand to operate BHX-HKG with Cathey, there is unlikely to be demand for Hong Kong Airlines to operate the route either. The only other factor would be demand for onward...

    easyJet

It wont show load factors on the app or website. It only shows people who have checked in online and already been assigned a seat and/or bookings where people have reserved a seat in advance.

    Infrastructure, Construction & Developments

Do we have any idea when the expansion of the lounge into the old security area will be complete? I also believe this includes the opening up of the old millenium link for F&B which will make the T2 departures much easier to find. Assuming the hard deadline will be next summer rush but would be...

    Route Development & Rumours

So to be clear... You think Hong Kong Airlines - an airline that currently doesn't offer ANY direct flights to Europe - and doesn't have flights outside of Asia other than 1x route to Canada and 2x routes to Australia is more likely to serve BHX-HKG than Cathey, an airline that currently flies...

    Route Development & Rumours

Because he has an airport to run... What's the point of the airport having an Aviation Development Team otherwise!? If there is a crash landing that he has to oversea, a terrorist incident, weather disruption, not having your CEO in the same timezone or continent is a little pointless.

    Route Development & Rumours

Why doesn't Cathey at BHX give you confidence? According to the website, the people in attendance from BHX are... Andrew Pelham, Aviation Development Manager, Birmingham Airport Adam Parker, Senior Aviation Manager, Birmingham Airport

    Route Development & Rumours

I think PIA are starting to realise that they have very little left of their international airline to re-launch. The very fact they have to stop their LHE-CDG in order to re-launch their ISB-MAN route speaks volumes. I doubt we will be seeing PIA back at BHX anytime in the foreseeable future...

Do they? Manchester T1 certainly didn't with me and my friends last week! Nor would I have expected it. it took around 25 mins which for summer peak was totally reasonable for me. And for me to just go through Fast-track transit security in Heathrow T5 in May it took 20 minutes a few months...

In peak summer time? Who are you kidding! Good luck with less than 15 minutes in any UK airport I've been to ...unless buying VIP/Fast Track of course! I had to wait 20 minutes in Berlin last month and that was VIP!
