In fairness, unlike other airlines, Wizz have been none to launch bases with just 1 or 2 aircraft... The Wizz bases previously at CWL/DSA for example were both 2 each i believe.
Alas, in the event Wizz are even considering a base at BHX, until anything is announced, all else is just pie in the...
To think that MAD and BER were unserved from BHX for years and seems so had to attract back...
Now Madrid carrying nearly 8,000 Pax (+140%) in June - Thanks Ryanair
Now Berlin carrying over 10,000 Pax (+32%) in June - Thanks Easyjet
Also good to see JED up 47% with no real increase in...
Its an odd quirk as it is, where they chose to open a small international base in the UK. I doubt it will be replicated anywhere else and am sure Aer Lingus have no plans to do so....
Noooooo A359s have 321 Seats. 3x daily would be 1,872 seats daily. Our current 77W (421 seats) and 388 (615 seats) provides 2,072 seats a day... i do hope that in the near future we will have one of each on the route but tie will tell...
Useful to see... thank you!
Because a) the CAA stats dont show the Load Factors and b) given the different configs of different EK aircraft on different routes across the UK, i dont know what the load factors would be. I'm just quoting the stats put infront of us and comparing them against other airports... im not here to...
It really isn't....
June is still quiet for the MEB3. The school holidays are yet to start in the UK and June is not the weather you want to visit DXB itself. The last 3 years have varied between 40-42k at BHX. This year was lowest but that's every UK route EK operates to the UK has seen falls...
Lets see if this sinks in.... There are 12 month period up to the end of the month being reported.
The above number is the number from 1st July 2024 till 30th June 2025. A full 12 month cycle....
When the next month happens at the end of July, this will run from 1st August 2024 till 31st July...
Oh I couldn't agree more... % is the only real way to measure growth in my eye, but there are mean that seem to think that distorts things of "only tells part the story" so for completeness posted both.
Conclusion - BHX had an amazing June!
1. How? as Knotty and Ray describes above, there are not any notable issues with queuing at the moment. Yes queues exist but nothing more than expected during peak season.
2. You have just described every major airport in the world!
You would expect the person in charge of Route Development to be the main person heading to route development events would you not?
You mean the security which under Nick Barton is having £60m invested into?
i have no experience on Turkish but was always under the impression their business class was pretty good, especially compared to most European business class product. Definitely one if been wanting to try!
I assume 90% of all traffic currently flying on Emirates, Qatar and Saudia are connecting on to onward destinations. Indeed, this is not the time of year to go on holiday to that part of the world!
