As far as I know it was a last minute flight in to BRS but was due to position out to CWL but that may have changed!
I think I heard someone say it was G-OMYA A320.
Not the best info sorry.
The airport could take a 747 or 777 but would have to be empty with enough fuel to get to LHR/LGW but they would take up 3 stands so the chances of one popping in would be slim to none, but an A330 on the other hand has been in before.
The 3 Fr's were on stands 32L, 24R and 25R (tail to tal...
Not the daily they were hoping to go to, but glad they will be sticking around for the summer. The route is slowly getting off the ground, but I guess the winter is a tough time to start for any airline.
I think it could be to do with them offering a direct flight to ZRH from BRS as it looks more attractive to business in the area, I guess as the loads from CWL were low they don't see it affecting the client base they currently have from CWL.
This is great news for FR and BRS. It will be interesting to see if they add more routes for the summer, as we all know FR like to chop and change at the last minute.
I makes me wonder if the rumour of FR starting routes from the Ukrane in May could see a route to BRS.
Bristol Airport named 'Best UK Airport' at Business Travel Awards
Bristol Airport was named ‘Best UK Airport’ at the prestigious Business Travel Awards 2012 last night (23 January).
The Airport took the top award in front of 1,200 travel industry guests at London’s Grosvenor House, seeing off...
From what i have seen the Fly be is still doing the usual 45-60 pax on most flights, so they havn't been affected to much, also with Blue Island still a new (to BRS) airline the word is still yet to get around to the leasure traveller, but the business comunity has taken note.
it would be nice...
They are going from strength to strength, the majority of flights are going out with 85% - 90% loads. The JER/GCI mix is good with the odd few connecting on to ZRH ( but will be interesting to see what happens now Helvetic are operating)
Over the Christmas period they have also sent an ATR 42...
As well as the new stands being built they are also constructing hard standing for the winter equipment on the south side near to the fire training rig, I'm not sure if they will be constructing a large hanger/shed in the cuter to house the equipment.
The new apron is coming on well, looking at the proposed plans it look like the peir will extend down about another 100 yards before turning down what is currently the taxiway to stands 29-30 and 31-33 with them being relocated.
HERE is the plans that show the new layout in detail.
with...
STU are doing the Lapland runs over Christmas, they had a Titan 757 operating for them on Sunday as well as the A320, not sure if they will be around to do ski flights.
I'm not to familiar with CWL but didn't Servisair buy Aviance Ground handling in the UK?
Makes sense for them to do BRS twice as you say will offer a direct flight, but could this be due to CWL struggling?
easyJet have their 200th A320 G-EZUI flying out of BRS at the moment, it's not to some tastes but it's nice to see one with a different livery from the norm!
Great news for BRS but I see this as test to see if the market demand is stronger and then stop the CWL route? I dont get why they will be operating via BRS twice, why not CWL-BRS-ZRH-CWL like has been said it will cut down on a rotation.
It also makes me wonder if Blue Island step up and...
Well it Looks like the Weston apron extension is underway. They have erected a tempory fence separating the current apron and the old post office sheds.
Just a matter of time before the diggers are in.
It would be great to get a US flight back and i would use it again, i think the main reason for CO to pull out was LHR being opened up, the fact is people were using business and the last 6 months building up to CO leaving the business cabin and the econ cabin were going out 90% if not over sold...
I have had the pleasure to work with John and he had some story's to tell, he started flying at 18 with the RAF and flew in the Phantom F4, he was also part of the Flying Crusaders Aerobatic Team.
It's sad to see him go and as talented a pilot he was it's a shame his last landing in to BRS was...
