I wonder how much of an 'ex-pilot' he he really is as (unless I missed it) he omits to mention how different airlines treat crosswinds in their SOPs which to me could be fundamental as to who lands and who doesn't which was the question posed. For example of two major airlines operating at LBA...
There are more folk than LBA watching to see what happens in respect of subsidising airlines to operate with public money! If I recall there were 7 or 8 comments/representations to the SAU so if FlyDoncasterr do light the blue touchpaper the flak will likely come from some unexpected quarters...
It's in the public domain that Reform were voting under a whip so not sure where @rabbitfoot is coming from. I guess Cllr. Charity who was the Chair of the Council Scrutiny Committee who said the Business Plan didn't stand up voted against as an Independent and I guess the Tories who probably...
Noticed this mornings early WIZZ Cluj flight went around the hold a couple of times before 7.00am and then descended to land on time at 7.05am. Weather CAVOK 270/14kts. I've also noticed a couple of Jet2 aircraft lining up but waiting until 7.00am to roll recently. Might seem the airport are...
Yep when you consider how this has evolved it is an amazing situation. Wouldn't you just love to see the fully costed business plan that has been hidden away. What does even more surprise me is that so many 'councillors' - supposedly in positions of responsibility - can vote on something as...
Looks like a statement that they will go out for private investment after re-opening is the requirement of other parties if they are to support the funding acceptance in order to attempt to mitigate the impact of potential losses!
It's not a bad letter in some respects BUT how can the signatories underpin their advice to proceed when not one of them I suggest has actually seen the costed business plan. Cherry picked 'positives' one thing but the the ability to assess and balance the risk against benefit is surely the key...
Yes - had a look yesterday evening and the dissent is indeed overwhelming - and not from the usual candidates. I think what it does show is that if the re-opening does not go as planned then the silent majority will be increasingly vocal!
Notice frantic activity now on the Campaign page with the leader gathering the hordes including Chamber of Commerce etc. etc. in writing to the Councillors to tell them to put political differences behind them and do the right thing for the future of Doncaster and vote to accept the funding...
It will be alright on the night @Rob c DSA ! :ROFLMAO: - or will it?? I think the complete lack of transparency is the thing for me that cries out that democracy is not alive and well in Doncaster! The whole process seems to have been conducted in 'Putinesque' fashion - where is the business...
No everything else flew from DUB and BHD - except Birmingham where the wind was far worse - and of course a similarly orientated runway to LBA. TAF was calling for a prob. of 15/25kt at LBA but was fairly consistent at 8 Kt most of the day. I guess we will never know!
Noticed additional EI activity this morning - delivering passengers from yesterdays cancelled afternoon and evening flights? All Birmingham schedules were also cancelled yesterday afternoon/evening. I assume these flights were cancelled because of the 'wind' element of the TAF but the 'actuals'...
Well that is clear and unambiguous which must be a first for the Mayor! Seems to tie in with the rumours around when Peel rejected them. For sure there's something odd here!!!
I lived for a few years in Burley-in-Wharfedale right beneath 32/14 flight paths at the eastern edge of the village - so aircraft at their lowest altitude after take off or on approach.. The plane noise being 'unbearable' when in the garden is of course a huge exaggeration - but that's what you...
What I find odd about this - although I personally would prefer CDC to be using private money instead of mine - is:
The Mayor has stated that this consortium has been around for three years and neither Peel nor CDC themselves appear to have been interested. There must be a very good reason for...
